Isnt this cute? Baby ducks swimming with mom in the pond?

Did you know that as the ducklings sit under mom for warmth, they get oil on their feathers from her? This allows them to swim with her safely. Every day more oil is absorbed from mom until they have their adult feathers and produce their own oil.

Did you know that ducklings hatched in an incubator don't have oil because they do not have a mom? Please be careful with ducklings and deep water. Yes, they will want to swim but they need to be supervised and dried off after or you risk them getting chilled or drowning. Swimming needs to be supervised for the first 5 weeks or more.

Why do we hatch chicks? To replace the hens that pass and to ensure eggs over the winter. It takes 6 months for a chicken to get to laying age. Know what breeds you have and their life expectancy. Some things you cannot fix.

I haven't seen this feed before and I have ducks in the incubator. This product shows a duck on the front and shows it as suitable for ducks on the back. It doesnt contain niacin so your ducks neck will start to twist and if left untreated will eventually die. Don't buy this. Even better don't buy Purina
