❄️Winter Weather Update: Jan. 26 at 3 p.m.❄️: Different week, same cold weather. Here's what we can expect to see over the next few days in Denton:
--Monday: Despite the subfreezing temperatures, sunny skies may lead to partial melting and minor improvement to travel conditions this afternoon, especially on treated and well-traveled roads. Despite this, we still encourage everyone to remain vigilant and off the roads unless completely necessary. Also, we want to remind everyone that due to road conditions, all DCTA services (including GoZone) have been cancelled today (Jan. 26).
--Tuesday: Refreezing of lingering slush and ice will occur overnight tonight (Jan. 26), which will impact the Tuesday morning commute. Black ice will be of concern on many roads and sidewalks.
--Safety tips: Even though we know many of you are eager to get out and enjoy the playing in the snow, we encourage you to sled safely and steer clear of frozen ponds. Ice can look solid, but it’s rarely safe to walk on! When sledding, choose safe locations away from roads, trees, and other obstacles.
