We are so excited to welcome our new Graduate Intern, Sydney, to the Steady Heart Team!!! Sydney is a student at Lamar University pursing her Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree. She comes to us with experience in trauma (EMDR trained), attachment theory, and able to work with a variety of presenting concerns such as anxiety, depression, relational communication, and addictions. Plus, as our Graduate Intern, Sydney is able to offer counseling at a low cost to meet the needs of our community! Jesus’ birth says that needing others is not weakness it is holy ground.
That dependence is not failure it is a place where love flows freely.
That trust, surrender, and receiving care are sacred acts.

It speaks to vulnerability without shame, dependence without weakness, and love without force.

THAT is the heart of the Incarnation. That IS who our Creator is.

And that means that when we are tired, needy, overwhelmed, or reliant on others
We are not far from God.

We are standing exactly where He once CHOSE to stand
