It's almost time for our Annual LOSS Music & Arts Festival! If you or someone you know would like to be a vendor, sponsor, musician, or contribute to our silent auction, please message us or email us at events@dentonmhmr.org. 🎸🎨 https://www.dentontxloss.org/events

This event brings the community together through live performances, local art, and resource sharing while raising awareness about su***de prevention and postvention support. The Denton County LOSS (Local Outreach to Su***de Survivors) Team provides immediate support, resources, and compassionate outreach to individuals and families impacted by su***de, often responding alongside first responders to offer hope and connection during times of crisis. The Music & Arts Festival helps further their mission by raising funds, reducing stigma, and connecting the community to lifesaving resources.

As Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month comes to a close, we’re continuing the conversation by breaking down important terms you may hear when learning about developmental disabilities. Understanding the language helps build understanding, inclusion, and stronger support for the individuals and families we serve every day.

Thank you to our IDD team for sharing their knowledge and helping us spread awareness all month long. Together, we can create a more informed and inclusive community. 💙

Yesterday's OAFC Kickoff brought community partners together to launch this outreach effort with a shared focus on supporting individuals experiencing homelessness in Denton County. One meaningful part of the event was assembling outreach backpacks filled with practical items such as Narcan for overdose prevention, hygiene supplies to support health and dignity, sleeping bags for warmth and safety, and resource materials to help connect individuals to local services. These bags are designed to meet immediate needs while also creating opportunities for connection, trust, and access to care. Denton County Public Health Denton County Commissioner Bobbie J. Mitchell
