We had a great meeting today with two of the best in the senior care business! 🙌

We had the pleasure of spending time with Nancy from Eagle Ridge Alzheimer's Special Care Center and Robyn from Concho Hearts Hospice, located in San Angelo, TX. It’s always inspiring to connect with professionals who are so dedicated to providing compassionate care and support for seniors and their families.

Conversations like these remind me how strong our community is when we work together to serve others. Looking forward to continuing to build great partnerships that make a real difference! 💙

We were glad to connect with the Texas Women’s Department of Public Safety to share our verbal de‑escalation techniques. What began as a class quickly became an open dialogue as we exchanged perspectives on how to better support our community. We’re grateful for this partnership and look forward to bringing this TCOLE‑accredited workshop to additional agencies.

At UBH Denton, we believe healing begins with understanding, not just what someone is doing, but why they are doing it.

Too often in mental health care (and in everyday life), behavior becomes the focus. We label it as "noncompliant," "attention-seeking," "defiant" or "resistant." But when we focus only on behavior, we miss the most important part of the story: the unmet human need beneath it.

This is where trauma-informed care, rooted in trauma-informed principles, invites us to shift our perspective from judgment to curiosity, from control to compassion.

Tonight in the Oasis Café, our kitchen staff is hard at work preparing dinner with care and dedication. 🍽️

From early prep to the final plate, their teamwork and heart go into every meal they serve. Nutrition is an important part of healing, and our dietary team shows up every day to make sure our patients are cared for in every way, body and mind.

We wouldn’t be UBH without our wonderful dietary staff. Thank you for all you do to nourish our community. 💙

When teens enter inpatient care at UBH Denton, their world can feel paused. School is interrupted, routines are disrupted and hope can feel out of reach. But healing doesn’t mean learning stops. Education becomes part of the process.

Our teen education program gives students something powerful: hope. Hope that they can keep moving forward academically. Hope that their future isn’t defined by a crisis moment. Hope that learning can feel safe again.

We help teens reconnect with hope, purpose and a future they can believe in.

Gratefulness is often talked about as something that should come naturally, something you can simply choose when life is going well. For many people, especially those navigating stress, trauma, anxiety or depression, gratitude can feel surprisingly difficult. That struggle isn’t a personal failure. It’s part of how the human brain is designed.

Read our latest blog to learn more about why gratitude can be challenging and how it can be supported over time.
