❄️ Weather Update & Preparedness at Shinnery Oaks ❄️
As colder weather is expected this weekend, Shinnery Oaks is taking proactive steps to ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of our residents and team members.
In alignment with state guidance for long-term care facilities, our team is reviewing and reinforcing our emergency preparedness plans. This includes a preparedness drill focused on winter and extreme cold conditions to ensure staff are ready to respond efficiently if needed.
Our preparations include:
✅ Reviewing procedures for potential power loss
✅ Ensuring adequate food, water, and medical supplies
✅ Verifying generator readiness and maintenance
✅ Assessing building integrity and weatherproofing
✅ Confirming communication plans for families and staff
✅ Planning for staffing needs, sheltering in place, or evacuation if required
Our goal is always to stay prepared so we can continue providing safe, reliable care—no matter the weather. Families will be kept informed should conditions change.
