Upliftme Attachment-Based Therapy

Upliftme Attachment-Based Therapy We are a group of therapists that support building happy and healthy relationships. They don't listen to you and you feel like you'v'e tried everything.

We help parents who are worried about their child and the struggles that have come up in their relationship/s. You might notice your child is destructive, angry, withdrawn, or sad and anxious. Nothing is working. It feels almost impossible to understand what they need and how to help them. They seem to be struggling in other areas of their lives as well, school, friends. We can help you and your child have better days and happier relationships. You want the best for them, but it feels so hard sometimes. We can help. Call or email today to begin.

Staring June 23rd, virtually at 6pm! I still have a few spots open for anyone who wants the added emotional support of a group for the perimenopause (menopause) phase of life. Topics of discussion are feelings about body changes, decreased libido, mood swings, frustrations with medical providers, and changes in relationships. I’ll also have an NP join us for one week for questions. $35 per week. Call 720-295-9086 or email april@upliftemechildtherapy.com to register.

Many of the therapists at UpliftME are trained in child-parent-psychotherapy. CPP celebrates and supports diversity and all families, however they define themselves. This is a good reminder of why PRIDE is important and why UpliftMe strives to be an ally and resource to the LGBTQ+ community.

CPP CELEBRATES PRIDE - Every day
Celebrating pride means that we commit to doing the work (within ourselves and within our communities) to ensure that all community members are free and supported in loving whomever they love and are loved and cherished as their authentic selves.

At UpliftME we have several specialists in infant and early childhood mental health. Therapists are trained to treat trauma, depression, and anxiety using dyadic therapies such as Child-Parent Psychotherapy (recommended in the article).

We noticed that a lot of people were searching the internet for ideas of how to manage toddler behaviors. So, we wrote a blog with some strategies. Check it out to learn more or to add your suggestions!

Toddlers! They are so cute in their little bodies, their boundless energy, and little laughs. Toddlers are some of the best people on the planet. But, if you are a parent to one, you know that they can make you feel crazy with frustration.  They call it the terrible two’s, and three’s if we’r...

Do you love yoga? Dogs? Maybe you want to check out our interview with Kerry Murphy - she uses mind, body, yoga, and a bunch of movement activities in her therapy with kids, families, and adults. She's also trained to incorporate animals into the mental health therapy she provides - co-therapist dog pending:)🐶

Kerry Murphy has been with us for a while now, and we think she is a wonderful human being. She started at UpliftME as a student intern and quickly became an integral part of the team. Kerry has since graduated from her Masters program and has become a busy and sought-after therapist within our grou...

We are continuing our trauma-focused yoga group. So often people do not make the connection between how their bodies are feeling and all of the stress, pain, and grief they are experiencing. Our bodies hold on to so much of our experience and we don't make space to allow healing to happen when life is difficult. Through body-centered activities, people can begin to notice how much they've been impacted and how moving our bodies can actually heal our pains.
Our group is run by our therapist and yoga instructor, Kerry Murphy, with a focus on the healing and management of body pains and discomfort. It is an hour and a half for $60 per group - includes yoga, skill building, and discussion.
Our group for female and non-binary identifying people is currently running. We will be starting one for male identifying and non-binary people soon. Please share with anyone you think could benefit - virtual option is available.

When we give our children permission to take up space, to have a voice, and to genuinely show up as themselves, we give them the gift of self-confidence.
I was reminded of this today talking with my 9 year old daughter, sharing my amazement of how quickly she is growing, and listing how we need to address this challenge. I said to her, "You are growing so fast, like a w**d, we need to ..." She interrupted me here, and I could have become upset with her, but I paused and listened instead. She said, "I don't want to be a w**d. Can I be a flower instead?" Rather than explaining what I meant, I said, "Yes, of course, like a sunflower? So strong and so tall?" Again, she disagreed with me and said, "No, like a pink rose without the thorns, or like a peony with soft pink petals."
This little girl has a vision of herself that is different than mine and it is beautiful, it is soft and pink. She isn't afraid to disagree with me, knowing that her vision of herself is important to share and to believe in. She can be a pretty pink flower and she knows it, and I can't wait to see it.
