When I choose to make a meal with meat, I like to surround it with healthy herbs, spices and minced veggies. This way the meat itself helps get broken down more efficiently. Remember, meat has ZERO fiber content.
With the help of the enzymes in the onions, garlic and veggies, the food passes through the digestive track easier without relying to much on our own stomach bile. 38 million Americans suffer from digestive issues. With Cinco de Mayo coming up I thought it’d be fun to post one of my favorite taco recipes. Tempeh tacos!
Season the tempeh with: cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, black pepper.

Mince up red onion and fresh garlic.
Sauté red onion and the fresh garlic in some ghee then add the tempeh, stir, add more spices to taste.

Side: minced up cilantro, red onion, jalapenos, tomatoes, shredded lettuce and salsa.

Smash up avocado and add a little plain greek yogurt for texture and flavor, lime juice for zing and cayenne for heat.
Try to find whole grain corn tortillas that still contain the grains in tact for added fiber. Typically in the frozen section.
Sit back and enjoy the magic of some guilt free tacos!

Desserts can be tough. All the refined sugars we’re so used to consuming for that quick sugar high. Try using just frozen fruits to satisfy that sweet tooth! Whole fruits contain prepackaged antioxidants and fiber which helps regulate and slow down the glucose breakdown avoiding insulin spikes, etc… I whipped this up last week and it certainly gives you that sweet fulfillment. In a high powered blender or food processor for a serving of 2 use:
• 2 frozen chopped bananas
• 1 cup frozen berry blend
• 2 Tbsp of nut butter
• 1/3 Tsp of ground vanilla
• 2 Tbsp of cacao nibs
• 1 Tbsp of chia or h**p seeds
Whipped to taste and eat immediately

Oatmeal is a great foundation for getting in lots of healthy superfoods in one shot! Oatmeal is a great cheap source of important vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fiber. Load it up with fruit, seeds, cacao nibs, nut butter, mint leaves, cinnamon and cardamom for a powerhouse of nutrition.

One of my favorite stir fry’s to make at home is not just loaded with health benefits, but also just tastes amazing.

Red onion, carrots, fresh ginger, celery, red bell pepper, broccoli, scallions, kale, cauliflower, cilantro, seseme seeds & jalapenos. Dressing: Ginger/ garlic puree, molasses, Tamari sauce, honey, seseme oil, turmeric and rice vinegar. Prepared separate is purple cornmeal crusted tofu.
