This work has brought the most beautiful souls into my life, and has forever changed me to the core. Getting to witness my soul sister bring new life into this world will forever be a top memory. So grateful for it all. 💛🙏🏼🌞

Fully prioritizing the golden hour after baby is born is everything. Belly birth can still be family focused and gentle. Planning ahead, you can advocate for full skin to skin after a cesarean. Not just cheek to cheek. Unswaddle that baby and get them on a chest! I wish all cesareans look like this… and that all doulas are allowed to support their families and document their story.

✅ Midwife coming in jeans and making it to the birth no matter what

✨Intermittent Auscultation✨

So, what is intermittent auscultation (IA)? IA is a form of fetal monitoring and an alternative of continuous monitoring. IA monitors the fetal heart rate and is recorded before, during, and after a surge. This is to asses for any decelerations or accelerations. To be a good candidate, you should be a lower risk pregnancy/labor and without Pitocin or epidural. If you didn’t know this was an option, advocate for your preference!

A huge theme throughout all stages of bringing new life into this world. But birth demands it at its core. Surrendering to the waves that overtake the body. Surrendering to the way this unfolds. Surrendering to the pathway your baby creates and their wisdom. A call we cannot ignore. There is power in letting go.
