✨Intermittent Auscultation✨

So, what is intermittent auscultation (IA)? IA is a form of fetal monitoring and an alternative of continuous monitoring. IA monitors the fetal heart rate and is recorded before, during, and after a surge. This is to asses for any decelerations or accelerations. To be a good candidate, you should be a lower risk pregnancy/labor and without Pitocin or epidural. If you didn’t know this was an option, advocate for your preference!

Don’t you just love it when you have a team of birth obsessed people who cannot wait to show you your placenta?! It gives pause to allow you to honor your baby’s lifeline - the sacred organ that you grew, just for your baby. It holds so much power and energy. It is the connection between two worlds.
