Chronic sleep deprivation can increase your risk for heart disease, diabetes, and obesity, and it can affect your mood, energy, and focus.

Hormonal shifts don’t just affect mood or metabolism; they can also influence how you breathe while sleeping.

Pregnancy and menopause are two critical stages where the risk of sleep apnea increases. Weight gain, airway swelling, and decreased muscle tone can all contribute to disrupted breathing at night. Left untreated, this can raise the risk of high blood pressure, gestational diabetes, and other complications.

Understanding these hormonal effects allows for more personalized and effective care.
