Great things happening in Denver, CO. Come join us at our annual conference in this lovely city and learn more about 5280 and their AMAZING students!

Congratulations to 5280's newest graduates!!

Although we're waiting until May to do our big graduation celebration, we took a moment on this final day of the semester to celebrate the 7 students who officially became alumni this week. We're so proud of each and every one of them, and are very much looking forward to their future visits to 5280. We can't wait to hear all about their college, trade school, and career journeys!

In partnership with the Portland Alano Club, we are so excited to be able to bring famous authors to work with our students across the country. Yesterday was Carmen Maria Machado. A huge outpouring of gratitude to her and to Kaveh Akbar, who is coordinating all of this.

Recovery High Schools transform lives.

Happily living in McKinley, Wi. Building our dream home with our own two hands on the lake next door to family. Working on building a life where we’re more self sustainable in our little family commune. We currently have over 50 chickens; ducks, and turkeys. I’m working in a beautiful small town salon, homeschooling kids James (10) Ezra (7). Engaged to be married to Coty Duoos (met at P.E.A.S.E.) next summer.

Coty now works as a Beekeeper and we sell organic honey and natural products @ BeeNaturalfamilyfarm.com. We are very happy and thankful for our time at P.E.A.S.E. It really set a solid foundation and established a long term recovery community I will forever be grateful for. Coty unfortunately didn’t graduate from P.E.A.S.E. as he had some more growing to do but I graduated early class of 2009.

An amazing opportunity for recovery high school students. Our next author session is Tuesday, Nov. 18. Email us at info@recovershools.org for more information

Our students got to take part in The Break — a brand-new national program bringing together recovery high schools across the country for an incredible creative experience.

The Break connects students from all 44 U.S. recovery high schools with world-class writers across genres. For the first session, students learned directly from Dr. Eve L. Ewing — exploring comic-book writing.

Opportunities like this remind us how recovery education opens doors to creativity, connection, and inspiration beyond the classroom. Thank you to the Association of Recovery Schools (ARS) for providing this opportunity!
