On this day celebrating the life of Martin Luther King, Jr (1929-1968), I'm thinking of the dynamics of psychological projection.
What we can't see in ourselves - or don't want to see in ourselves - will inevitably be projected out into the world and an "other." This holds true for any collection of individuals - an organization, culture, society or nation - as well as for the individual themself. For those who have taken (Mod 9) BodyTalk: Matrix Dynamics, this is the group's Projected Matrix.
As long as we as individuals and as a people continue to ignore the unconscious hatred that lies in potential within and continue to avoid the discomfort of being honest with ourselves & looking at ourselves in the proverbial mirror, that unconscious hatred will find expression somehow - oftentimes in the form of a hateful person "out there" such as a dictator, tyrant, fascist, bigot, etc.
This is the exact same dynamic as suppressed/repressed trauma & emotions being expressed as symptoms and disease.
A people's fear of facing their own shadow will always lead to the emergence of the shadow "out there" so the people can remain oblivious in the bliss of their own ignorance and unconsciousness and continue to live in victim-blame consciousness.
In the words of Ghandi: "If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him".
To me, this is one of the major concepts underpinning the BreakThrough system & The BodyTalk System. Change starts from within - with you. Where are you living from?
