New Year’s Resolutions tend to be hollow. Short lived. Fizzling out almost instantaneously like zebra fruit stripe gum (remember that stuff?).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So we’re leaving them behind and trying on something different 👋🏻
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For some of you, you just felt your entire body exhale. For others, the mere thought of dropping resolutions makes your skin crawl.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I get it. I work with high-achievers and perfectionists, and I hear all the time about how they don’t want to become complacent or stagnant.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When I was deep in my perfectionist, high-achieving era, I lived by the idea that ‘if you’re not growing you’re dying’.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But if we’re being real, resolutions don’t last. They’re not effective like we want them to be (and no, it’s not because you’re lazy or incompetent, not even close).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Over on the blog (🔗 in bio) we’re unpacking why resolutions aren’t all that, and how to still step into the new year intentionally but with grace.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here’s to a new year of embracing all of you 💛
