We honor the farmworker movement today with the rallying cry, “Sí, se puede." This movement fought for better wages, rights, and conditions for farmworkers using nonviolent tactics such as strikes, boycotts, and fasts.

“It was Dolores Huerta who coined the slogan 'Sí, se puede' in 1972 when bringing together farmworkers in Arizona to fight a law that prohibited boycotts and strikes.

Told it would be impossible to organize in the Southwestern state, her three-word Spanish-language response — which translates as “Yes, it can be done” — was simple, defiant and emblematic. Huerta’s resolve cemented her place in history as one of the nation’s most influential labor leaders, civil rights icons and feminist activists.”

For Women's History Month, we're celebrating pioneers in the health and medical fields.

Susan La Flesche Picotte (1865-1915) was the first Native American to earn a medical degree. She was a member of the Omaha tribe and an early advocate of public health reforms, especially to prevent the spread of tuberculosis, which at the time had no cure.

"It's about offering continuity. We, as Colorado Access, are the largest Medicaid health plan in the state and the largest CHP+ health plan in the state, so we want to make sure that we're able to reduce disruptions in coverage and care during those transitions.”

In a recent article with Denver Business Journal, our president and CEO explains how entering Colorado’s Individual Marketplace as Colorado Access Choice, beginning in the 2027 Plan Year (through the Colorado Access affiliated organization, Access Connected Care Partners Inc.) reflects our continued commitment to supporting people whose coverage may change, even as their health needs do not.

It's a strategic move amid federal policy changes that could leave more than 150,000 Coloradans without coverage, the organization's leader said.

**ER vs. Urgent Care: Know Where to Go! 🚑**

When should you go to the Emergency Room?
✅ Chest pain or difficulty breathing
✅ Severe bleeding or head injury
✅ Sudden weakness, confusion, or stroke symptoms
✅ Major fractures or burns

When is Urgent Care the better choice?
✅ Minor cuts or sprains
✅ Fever, flu, or mild infections
✅ Allergies or mild asthma symptoms
✅ Minor fractures (like a finger)

🏥 **Urgent Care = faster, cheaper for non-life-threatening issues.**
🚨 **ER = life-saving care for serious or life-threatening situations.**
Knowing the difference can save time, money, and lives! 💙

**Urgencias vs. Centro de atención urgente: ¡sepa a dónde ir! 🚑**

✅ Cortes o esguinces menores
✅ Fiebre, gripe o infecciones leves

Q: Isn’t it better to get immunity naturally?

A: Vaccines offer a pathway to immunity—without the suffering. They’re carefully designed to activate your immune system in a controlled way. You might feel a sore arm, mild fatigue or a low-grade fever, but that’s your body doing its job: recognizing the threat and preparing defenses.

Importantly, vaccines don’t just protect individuals—they help protect communities. When enough people are vaccinated, it becomes harder for diseases to spread, shielding those who can’t be vaccinated due to age or medical conditions.
