Honest question:
Have you ever tried meditation and thought,
“I’m bad at this” or “My mind won’t settle”?
You’re not alone—and it’s not a failure.
If you’re curious, we're offering a two-day meditation workshop Jan 24–25 focused on practical skills for busy, stressed minds.
I’m curious—have you tried meditation before, or is it still on the “maybe someday” list?

Thinking about meditation—but not sure where to start?
On January 24–25, Finding Ground Meditation is hosting a two-day in-person weekend workshop focused on practical meditation skills for working with stress, overwhelm, and a busy mind.
This is for people who are curious about meditation but:
– feel skeptical or unsure it will “work”
– have tried before and felt too distracted
– want something realistic for everyday life
This workshop isn’t about forcing calm or emptying your mind. It’s about understanding how attention actually works—and learning how to relate to stress differently.
Over the weekend, we’ll explore:
• Simple, foundational meditation practices
• How attention works (and why willpower isn’t enough)
• Working skillfully with distraction and restlessness
• How stress shows up in the body and mind
• Building a practice you can actually maintain
Participants often leave with more clarity, steadiness, and a more workable relationship with their inner experience.

Have you ever tried to meditate but felt your mind was too busy?

We've passed through another year, and soon 2025, will be yesterday.
Allow us to express heartfelt gratitude.
Our community's support, engagement, and dedication to practice have made Finding Ground Meditation strong and inspired. This month, we are hosting a special One Day Meditation Workshop— an offering gift of meditation.

This is a gathering for reflection, and a space to create aspirations for the year ahead.
This is a wonderful way to refresh and restart meditation with vigor, and we're delighted to share this format now— at the end of 2025, and plan to come back to it throughout the year to come.

2026 will be a year rich with teachings and time to gather throughout the months to keep practicing and learning.

As you already know, Finding Ground is a from-the-ground-up approach to establishing the real fundamentals of transformative practice. When you meditate like this you can't miss the point. The path is easier and more inspiring, and that makes it more joyful, and more lasting.

Life can get mixed up in thinking that we are 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒃𝒍𝒆 for things that are actually 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿. We spend energy trying to influence them, but they are out of our reach. Time lost! At the same time, we miss opportunities to shape things that really are in our power. Our lives are passing. Time is ticking. What is our practice path forward?

During the One Day Workshop, we'll reflect on:
• 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲?

• 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘂𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝘆?

Meditation and the Finding Ground path will completely reverse confusion and rehabilitate our natural strength and clarity.

Come one, come all!
We hope you will join us for this final mini workshop of 2025: We're so thankful for the meditators who have helped us create a clear path for practitioners to find their way. Finding Ground is now a community where we're able to thrive together. Wishing everyone a holiday season filled with peace and joy, and we can’t wait to see what we accomplish together in the new year.

This weekend we're offering a meditation workshop. It combines the two most important facets of a full, for-the-rest-of-your-life practice.

Relaxation: the ability to let go of all struggle while staying present
Knowledge: the understanding of what happens when we do this, and how it will unfold layer by layer
If you’ve felt like something’s missing, this is the offering that brings it all together.

Tonight! Monday June 30, we’re going live on YouTube
Tune in at 6pm Mountain Time for an hour of answering your questions.

I'll begin this livestream answering a questions sent in yesterday:

"what's up with all the visualizations that meditators do? All the gods, devas, whatever they are. Are these supposed to be real? Are they just symbolic? Why do people do this type of meditation?"

Excellent question!
When we think of meditation, we probably think of the breath. Peace. Relaxation. But in many parts of the world, the most impactful meditation is thought to be visualization practice, combined with mantra recitation. This is strange stuff indeed to most Western people. It sure was to me.

Over the years, teachers helped me understand how and why such meditation practices work. I was flabbergasted, and I have great respect for meditators who dedicate the time and effort to this style of meditation practice.

Visualization is an advanced form of meditation. It has no more to do with worshipping a god than any other meditation does. It uses powerful symbols to hold the mind steady.
I don't teach visualization, but I know many people in our community practice it. You can't go very long without bumping into someone who focuses on visualization practice, so tonight we're going to talk about it.

This will be an accessible talk, with a chat for asking questions.
