Dr. Vlad Matei presented a continuing education lecture this weekend. Can you guess what his topic covered?

Spoiler alert: the retina!

As one of the most vital parts of our vision, the retina is a a thin layer of tissue that lines the back of the eye on the inside. The purpose of the retina is to receive light that the lens has focused, convert the light into neural signals, and send these signals on to the brain for visual recognition.

Our doctors are proud to have expert knowledge when it comes to advanced retina care and treatments. To learn more about our offices, please visit: www.rmretina.com

Floaters are small dark shapes that float across your field of vision and can look like black or gray specks, strings, squiggly lines or even little cobwebs. They may seem to appear out of nowhere or dart in another direction when you try to look at them.

Most people have floaters that come and go, and often don’t need treatment. But sometimes floaters can be a sign of a more serious eye condition.

Hear board-certified retinal specialists Drs. Geeta Lalwani and Vlad Matei describe the causes, implications, risks and treatment options for eye floaters.
