Riverside is not sitting still. We are actively negotiating with the Denver Water Board to restore a limited water supply—not for turf, but to help establish native trees that will provide shade, beauty, and ecological value for generations to come.

Additionally, with support from the Denver Water Landscape Transformation Assistance Program and the expertise of Matrix Design Group, we are engaged in a long-term landscape restoration effort.

This project involves:
- Replacing thirsty, non-native plants with resilient, native vegetation suited to Colorado’s climate

- Designing test plots using different soil treatments and native seed mixes to find the most effective strategy for large-scale restoration

- Enhancing biodiversity and ecological health, while dramatically reducing water use and maintenance needs
