The Workplace and Well-Being Task Force is pleased to welcome Dr. Amber Cizmic as our presenter for the upcoming Winter Meeting. Dr. Cizmic is the Director of Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacy Services with Intermountain Health, Peaks Region, and is based in Denver, CO.

Her topic is entitled: From Me to We: Managing Up, Across, and Within for Greater Success. Communicating effectively with supervisors (“managing up”), peers (“managing across”) while growing yourself (“managing self”) can be challenging in the workplace. This presentation will focus on practical principles for partnering effectively with organizational leaders and peers to align priorities, enhance communication, and strengthen collaboration—all with the goal of driving shared success.

The program will also include a panel presentation featuring real-world scenarios on managing up and across, with representation from community, hospital, dual-role providers, and ambulatory care professionals. We are excited to have Dr. Cizmic present on this important topic given it is one that has been frequently requested by members at past CPS meetings and highlighted in comments from our prior workplace survey!

Please join us in Beaver Creek for what promises to be an engaging presentation and an excellent meeting!

Today, the Colorado State Board of Pharmacy voted to make permanent Rules regarding pharmacists’ authority to provide immunizations to our communities. At the hearing, the Board voted unanimously to permanently adopt the emergency rule changes (from 9/5/25) that delink pharmacists’ immunizations authority from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines, and grant authority for pharmacists to independently prescribe any vaccine under their own license/NPI, getting rid of the need for a physician authorization protocol.

These rules will be sent to the Secretary of State and in full effect no later than January 14, 2026. In the meantime, the emergency rules remain in effect. Please consult the Colorado Board of Pharmacy for final documentation and links to updated Rules.

This is a very important advocacy win championed by CPS - thanks to the efforts of those who helped draft the changes and testify in support. We thank the Colorado State Board of Pharmacy for the collaboration and leadership. This is a combined win for public health and our communities.
