Nearly 100 Teamster poker enthusiasts filled the Local 455 Hall on Saturday for the 2026 Annual Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament, where the winners pocketed anywhere from $100 to $900 for first place and everyone else had a grand old time! In order, here are the winners: 1st place - Chris Suazo; 2nd place -- Chris Pender; 3rd place: Jorge Armendarez; 4th place -- Mab Chan; 5th place -- Paul Inman; 6th place -- Larry Gallegos; 7th place -- Jill Inman; 8th place -- Tommy Baca; 9th place -- Frank Foley; 10th place -- Jackson Rossmith; and 11th place (bubbled out) -- Doug Brees. Teamsters Local 455 Alsco members who ratified their new three-year agreement on Saturday now have a vision of retirement, thanks to their new CBA that provides a 98 percent pension contribution increase over the three-year term of the agreement. "This pension only began in 2011, so it went from brand new to $8 an hour after this contract," said Business Agent Jason Abbott. "That means these members can now work toward retirement, not work until they cannot work anymore." The new deal also gives maintenance members a $9.50 per hour pay increase over three years; increases bereavement coverage to include grandchildren and brothers- and sisters-in-law; more than doubles the shoe allowance from $80 to $180; and increases workers' compensation time off from nine months to one year. Congratulations to all!

As Ryder members celebrate more than a month working their new collective bargaining agreement, Teamsters Local 455 spent Wednesday at the Holly Street and Montbello facilities handing out new contract books. “Members are actually able to see their shift differentials, raises and health and welfare in writing,” said Business Agent Greg Marshall.

The Teamsters UPS Central Region Agreement is clear: If you're a UPS part-timer and you show up for work on time, you're guaranteed 3.5 hours. If the company doesn't pay or plays games and attempts to send people home early, the language is still clear: 3.5 hours work and 3.5 hours pay. Not surprising then, that the company is now paying for violations of that language -- to the tune of nearly $90,000 so far and counting. Local 455 Officers, Agents and Stewards handed out more than hundred checks to part-timers Monday at the Commerce City Noonday Hub. And there's another batch of grievances ready to be filed. Said Alan Frisbee, Teamsters Local 455 President: "Our Local and our Union Stewards worked together to file these grievances on behalf of our members and won. If the company keeps playing, we'll keep filing and we'll keep winning."
