A HUGE thank you from The Gardens at St. Elizabeth to our incredible community! 🙏

Every year the Feast Day of St. Elizabeth of Hungary, celebrated on November 17th, serves as a powerful reminder of selfless service and compassion. In honor of our namesake Saint Elizabeth, we host an annual food drive. This year, we exceeded all previous records, raising an incredible $8,990! Thanks to the unmatched generosity of our residents, their families, and our dedicated staff, this translates to over $80,000 worth of food for the Denver community through our amazing partners at Bienvenidos Food Bank 🏡❤️🛒

"We are absolutely overwhelmed by the generosity shown by our community this year," says Aram Haroutunian, Director of Mission Integration. "This record-breaking contribution will make a tangible difference in the lives of so many families served by Bienvenidos."

Especially with increased needs this year, this generosity is providing vital support just in time for Thanksgiving. We're honored to partner with Bienvenidos Food Bank in this impactful work.

11 of us went to "Christ on the Mountain" on Green Mtn. Fr David Allen, son of resident Josie, is the priest there and celebrated Mass. And amazingly (we didn't know this when we originally chose the date), it was Josie's birthday! The wonderful folks at the church provided a birthday celebration for Josie! After this, we went out for lunch at Davies Chuck Wagon Diner, a classic joint on W Colfax.

Happy World Kindness Day from The Gardens at St. Elizabeth! ✨

Today we’re celebrating the everyday kindness that defines our community — through both big gestures and the small moments that matter most.

1️⃣ Kathleen C. shares:
“I see other residents helping people that are struggling in their daily lives. They go out of their way to help them back to their rooms, to activities, to eat. Everyone is so helpful.”

2️⃣ Rick W. says:
“We do it all the time at continental breakfast. Sometimes a staff member gets really busy, and we try our best to step up and help them get food for residents who can’t carry it themselves. That’s what we do — we help each other out.”Thank you to everyone at The Gardens at St. Elizabeth who helps make kindness a daily habit.

In honor of World Kindness Day tomorrow, we’re celebrating the kindness that shines every day at The Gardens at St. Elizabeth.

These stories from our residents and team remind us how compassion connects us all. 💛

1️⃣ Shaterra, Resident Services Coordinator, shares:
“Every single day I see our receptionist go out of her way to not only get meal tickets, but also serve residents who can't serve themselves.”

2️⃣ Our resident Sergio A. says:
“The caretakers are always so kind and I experience that kindness every day, especially in the East Wing of our campus. They’re always ready to do more than what they have to do. All of the staff here is friendly and so helpful.”

3️⃣ Melissa Santistevan, Marketing Director, tells us:
“Madison went above and beyond to plan a very special event for the Veterans here. She took the lead in planning a tailgating lunch and tour of the Denver Broncos stadium, making sure to connect with our parent company CommonSpirit, who contributed gifts for the Veterans. It was an amazing event that our Veterans will never forget!”

Stay tuned—more moments of kindness will be shared tomorrow!
