At the Spearly Center, person-centered care isn’t just something we say — it’s something we live every day in the Pinion Neighborhood.

Our ADOW, Abdi, and our Social Services partner, Monica, embody that commitment in the most meaningful ways. Together, they create an environment rooted in compassion, dignity, teamwork, and genuine connection. Their collaboration ensures that every resident’s voice is heard, every concern is addressed, and every success is celebrated.

The strength of the Pinion Neighborhood comes from leaders who lead with heart — and we are incredibly proud to have Abdi and Monica serving residents with such dedication and integrity.

Spearly was filled with Valentine energy, love, and so many smiles thanks to a visit from the Colorado Children's Chorale.

The students sung and paraded through our third floor and out onto the Pinion Patio, greeting residents along the way and passing out handmade Valentines to everyone they met.

Residents were just as excited to give back — creating little gift bags that were shared with the students before they headed out. We wrapped up the visit gathered outside for a group photo, soaking in the moment together.

We always treasure visits from this wonderful choir. Their kindness, music, and youthful energy bring so much happiness to our entire community, and we are incredibly grateful for the joy they share every time they visit.

We truly appreciate the Smoky Hill United Women in Faith (part of Smoky Hill United Methodist Church) for their heartfelt gift of handmade prayer shawls and quilts. Each piece was crafted with intention and prayer to offer warmth, comfort, and a tangible reminder of compassion for our community.

Margo, our Social Services Director, accepted these treasures to share with those in need of extra support and spiritual comfort. We are so grateful for this partnership and the kindness poured into every stitch!

We were excited to share some wonderful news at this month’s Resident Council meeting—a brand-new partnership with the Highland Recreation Center! Through this partnership, residents age 60 and over will be able to participate in Denver’s 60+ Program, which offers free access and free memberships to the rec center. For residents under 60, we’ll be working with Play Applications to help secure memberships as well.

This opportunity opens the door to a wide variety of fitness and wellness classes, games, art and culture programs, and outdoor recreation. Lexi from the Highland Rec Center joined us at Resident Council to present, and residents were absolutely delighted and excited about all the possibilities this new partnership brings.
