The Spearly Center Skilled Nursing community primarily serving those living with chronic mental illness, brain injury or neurological disorders.

Juniper Village - The Spearly Center is home to approximately 135 residents and 130 professionals dedicated to providing person-centered, skilled nursing care in a therapeutic community. Those living at Juniper Village - The Spearly Center are primarily people living with chronic mental illness, brain injury or neurological disorders. Each November, our community comes together to reflect on gratitude and give back to our neighbors. As part of our annual Thanksgiving fundraiser, residents worked collectively to support Bienvenidos Food Bank in Highland, Denver, Colorado.

This year, we are proud to share that we have raised $1,000 for the food bank! Bienvenidos has been a vital resource for families and individuals throughout the Denver Metro area, offering groceries, essential items, and compassionate support to anyone facing food insecurity.

We are honored to support the important work of the Bienvenidos Food Bank, and we extend our deepest appreciation to all residents who helped make this donation possible.

A Little Fall Magic at Our Community

This season, something wonderful sprouted in our community—two handmade scarecrows created with care, laughter, and a whole lot of imagination.

Meet Cornelius and Isabella, the newest members of our fall family! With their bright smiles, cozy flannels, they now stand proudly as the guardians of autumn in front of our center.

Residents helped bring these friendly faces to life, weaving together straw, fabric, and creativity. Although not everyone who worked on them could be in the photo, their spirit is stitched into every detail.

It’s moments like these—when residents come together to decorate, create, and make our space feel like home—that remind us how beautiful community can be.

Happy Fall from all of us… and from Cornelius and Isabella, too!

The Spearly Center proudly sponsored a performance by the Mile High Karate Ambassador Team out of Thornton, Colorado. The team is composed of talented young martial artists ranging in age from 11 to 18, each holding ranks from first to third-degree black belt.

These dedicated students perform at both small community events and large tournaments. They are currently working toward traveling to Orlando, Florida next summer to compete in the U.S. Open ISKA World Martial Arts Championship. Our sponsorship will help support their journey to that competition.

This partnership is especially meaningful because one of the team members volunteers at the Spearly Center, where he has supported programs for over six months; his parents, Rachel (Medical Concierge/HIC) and Keith (Wellness Director), are both part of our Juniper team.

We thoroughly enjoyed the performance, which was an energetic mix of music, choreography, and martial arts.

The Spearly Center is honored to have sponsored such an outstanding group and wishes them great success in the future.

Thank you to our incredible community partners!

As we enter the season of gratitude and prepare for Thanksgiving, we reflect on the importance of our local community partnerships. These deeply-rooted connections are an extension of our mission “to be the people, places and programs that nurture the spirit of life,” both inside our walls and beyond.

With 28 locations in five states, each Juniper community has woven its own unique tapestry of ties to the local community. These partnerships are vast and varied. Elementary schools, universities, dance studios, breweries, bakeries, theatres, outdoor clubs, churches, animal shelters, libraries, athletic teams, artists, non-profits, and so many more come into our communities to create experiences that meld passion with purpose.

Through these partnerships, we’ve been able to:

🔹Foster a deep sense of connection and belonging for everyone involved
🔹Offer vibrant programs and impactful experiences for both Juniper residents and the broader community
🔹Give back through volunteerism, shared wisdom, friendship, and community spirit
🔹Combat ageism and challenge stereotypes about older adults and senior living

These relationships ensure that Juniper is more than a place to live - we’re an integrated and dynamic part of the communities around us.

Alive in All Seasons: Growloween Celebration

This past Saturday, October 25th, residents of The Spearly Center gathered in the main dining room to get dressed up for our annual event before heading outside the main entrance to join the festivities. Everyone enjoyed passing out dog treats to the many furry friends who stopped by—more than 100 dogs in total!

Sponsored by Three Dog Bakery Denver, this beloved yearly event brings smiles to residents and visitors alike. Guests sipped on hot chocolate, hot chai, and cold drinks while pups enjoyed tons of treats while celebrating a “growling” good Halloween!
