🌿✨ BIG NEWS from BlackSage Bodyworks! ✨🌿
We’re thrilled to share that our Denver practice will soon be in the incredible hands of a truly mind-blowing therapist who embodies everything we value in heart-centered, high-quality bodywork.

Please welcome Kim — The Zen Wrangler - Massage Therapist & Bodyworker — who will be continuing our Denver work under Teal Moon Bodyworks. Her intuition, presence, and technical skill make her a perfect fit for our community.

“I’m honored to support your wellness journey. Every session is crafted with compassion, presence, and joyful spirit—your body’s needs will always guide the work.”

Kim’s own sciatic healing journey pulled her from a long career in CPG into the world of therapeutic massage. She graduated from the Berkana Institute in 2020 and has worked in both sports-focused clinics and high-end spas, creating what she calls The Zen Wrangler Experience—a blend of therapeutic depth, restorative relaxation, and intuitive care.

She’s also a certified Sound Healer, Vibrational Practitioner, Reiki Master Teacher, and is currently advancing her studies in Mindful Expressionism®, specializing in head, face, neck, and intraoral TMJ work.

Outside the studio, she’s often kayaking, camping, exploring Colorado with her husband Jesse, or loving on their pups, Friday and Shiva.

Starting in January, Kim will be taking over Denver operations and continuing the intentional, nervous-system-honoring care you’ve come to expect from BlackSage. We couldn’t imagine a better practitioner to carry this work forward.

Stay tuned for booking links and transition updates.
Help us welcome Kim to the BlackSage community!

As autumn deepens and the air turns crisp, our bodies—like the lichen clinging to stone—seek balance between dryness and renewal.

Lichen survives by drawing moisture from the air, thriving in even the most rugged terrain. It reminds us: hydration is not just about water—it’s about absorption, retention, and flow. As winter’s chill approaches, our skin, fascia, and cells need that same mindful replenishment.⁣

Book a session with Amelia this month to nourish your tissues and restore circulation before winter sets in. Her grounding, fluid approach helps the body soften and absorb—just as rain revives the forest floor.⁣

Drink deeply. Rest intentionally. Let your inner landscape stay supple through the season of stillness.

🔥 The Element of Fire 🔥

Cupping invites warmth, suction, and movement — a balance of science and ritual that supports the body’s natural rhythms. By creating negative pressure on the skin and underlying fascia, it gently lifts the tissues, increasing local circulation and easing areas of restriction.

Emerging research shows that cupping can help reduce fascial stiffness and improve tissue glide and range of motion — not by “removing toxins,” but through measurable changes in circulation, hydration, and neuromuscular response. Studies have demonstrated improvements in deep-layer tissue mobility and increased microvascular flow, suggesting tangible shifts in how the body responds to tension and recovery.

At BlackSage, we use cupping as both a therapeutic and sensory experience — where warmth meets release, and science meets soul. ✨

We’ve settled into our new space — grounded, warm, and ready to hold the work that unfolds here — right as life calls me into a new kind of season. With maternity leave beginning in January, it feels both humbling and poetic that as I step back, BlackSage continues to grow forward.

All sessions are held at our new location (just as a little reminder for those I don’t see as often): 244 N Washington St, Denver, CO — inside Fusion Chiropractic.

Amelia will continue offering sessions on Mondays, and we’re in the process of finding the next practitioner to carry this work forward — someone aligned with the same care, depth, and integrity that BlackSage was built upon (and I believe we found them!!! But more on that later… 🤞).

This chapter is one of grounding and becoming — for me, for the practice, and for what’s next to take root.

Logo design by the extraordinary Shadee Gray, whose linework captures the essence of our name: the balance of structure and wildness, of healing that grows from shadow to light. And the ever- evolving nature that surrounds us.

Thank you for being part of this unfolding. 🌑

🍂 Fall into Warmth 🍂

As the seasons shift and the air turns crisp, our bodies crave grounding and warmth. One of the best ways to support circulation and soothe the nervous system? Start from the ground up — with your feet.

We’re now offering warmed, spiced sugar scrubs to melt away tension, exfoliate dry skin, and boost circulation as the temperatures drop. Think cozy, aromatic notes of cinnamon, clove, and orange — all blended to awaken the senses and support whole-body wellness this fall.

Add one to your next session with Amelia or me, and let warmth find its way back through your feet — grounding you gently into the rhythm of the season. 🍁

The girls have questions. 🐔👀
Like… why haven’t you read the latest email yet? Or the post before that? There’s good stuff in there — updates, openings, maybe even a few secrets worth hatching soon.😉

Consider this your friendly (and slightly judgmental) reminder from the coop.

✨ Big news from the BlackSage ✨

Our family — and our story — is growing. 🌿
Jeff and I are thrilled to share that we’re expecting a little one in late February. This next chapter is unfolding with so much gratitude and awe for the timing of it all.

As many of you know, BlackSage has been evolving too. I’ll be stepping away from sessions in January as I prepare for maternity leave, and we’re in the process of transitioning the Denver practice to new, trusted hands while continuing to nurture our space in Idaho Springs.

Thank you for walking alongside me through every season of this journey — from the depths of healing work to the tender beginnings of new life.

It often takes time for the functionality and flow to align, but this iteration is really starting to take shape. Every detail matters—from how the room feels the moment you walk in, to how it supports the work being done here. I’m excited to see this version come together and to share it with you.

At BlackSage, we don’t shy away from the dark shadows—we embrace the depths of our inner truth, where shadow and light meet to create powerful healing.

Happy Sunday. May your day hold both softness and strength, and remind you that every layer of you belongs.

✨🌱Welcome back Amelia 🌱✨
We are so excited to share that Amelia is back! Many of you already know and love Amelia’s work, and for those meeting her for the first time, you are in for a true gift.

Amelia has been a practicing massage therapist for nine years, blending a love of body science with a holistic approach to wellness. Her favorite modalities include deep tissue, relaxation massage, and neuromuscular therapy—always tailored to the unique needs of each client. She brings a fluid style that balances technical skill with intuition, helping the body release tension while creating space for deep restoration.

Starting this Monday, Amelia will be seeing clients from 11am–7pm. You’ll notice Amelia’s sessions are offered at a slightly lower rate than mine, and gratuities to her are always appreciated! As a special welcome back, I’m offering an additional $10 off sessions with Amelia for a limited time only—a perfect opportunity to reconnect with her healing work or experience it for the very first time. That is $20 off our website listed session price!

We are truly thrilled to have her energy and talent back in the space. You can book your session 24/7 through the link in our bio or call our fabulous Shadee Gray to get on the books! To read a little more about what Amelia has been up to since we saw her last, you can find her full bio on the ‘Meet the Therapists’ page on our website, under contact.

With overwhelming gratitude for each and every one of you,

Sara

✨ We’ve officially moved! ✨
BlackSage Bodyworks has a new home.

While we’re so sad to say goodbye to our cozy space at Rooted Heart—our home for over five incredible years—we’re excited to begin this next chapter. Rooted Heart has been a place of deep connection, healing, and growth, and we’ll forever be grateful for the community we found there. We’ll still be visiting often and continuing to refer clients back to the amazing team there.

Come see us at:
🌿 244 N Washington St, Denver, CO
(Inside Fusion Chiropractic, Cherry Creek/Wash Park)

Let the next season begin 🌱

A few details to keep in mind:

• Parking: Easiest access is from Speer into the lot cradled by the building. There’s also free street parking on Washington. Both streets are one-ways, so plan your route accordingly.
• Entrance: Use the main door on Washington St and look for the Fusion Chiropractic sign. There is a lovely tree right next to the entrance and little turquoise chairs.

Let me know if you have any trouble finding us!

I wanted to show you a glimpse of what life is like in the mountains…

This is the view from our home at Redtail Retreat—where the moose occasionally wander by.

We’ve been pouring love and effort into turning our off-grid home into a full-blown homestead. Our newest additions include two Colorado Mountain Dogs named St. Stephen and Mr. Charlie (our loyal LGDs), a pig named Mr. Dinner (yes, really), and a spirited flock of chickens. 🐓🐾

Next up? Bees and sheep, if all goes well this next year.

Someone recently suggested I share more of what we’re creating up here, and truthfully, I never thought to. So—thank you for taking interest. Here it is! More to come. 🌿

Our Story

BlackSage Bodywork’s mission is to artfully facilitate the natural healing forces within by providing therapeutic massage with the mindset of mindfully confronting dysfunction patterns in order to resolve the root cause.

Sara's style is detailed and adaptive to benefit every body, since no two are alike. She is able to dive deep into the crevices that are often overlooked to bring radical normalization to the body. She enjoys working outside the box by developing, customizing, and adjusting treatments to the ever changing needs of each individual client. Since graduating from Berkana Institute of Massage Therapy in 2012, Sara found her niche in deep tissue massage after working extensively with the unique musculoskeletal maladjustments faced by the circus arts community. Being an athlete most of her life, and sustaining injuries as a result, she has developed pertinent knowledge of kinesiology, as well as the associated therapeutic techniques.

Sara is trained in a variety of modalities including, but not limited to: Swedish, deep tissue, neuromuscular therapy, myo-facial techniques, inter-oral therapy, aromatherapy, Thai massage, hot and cold stone therapy, cupping, and pre-natal. She is pursuing the full 250- hour advanced Mindful Expressionism® Certification and currently is a competent practitioner of 'Level 1: Extremities, Sciatic, Carpal Tunnel, and Plantar Fasciitis', 'Level 2: TMJ, Jaw, Head, Neck, and Face,' as well as ‘Level 5: Low Back Specialization.’ To learn more about this program: http://berkanainstitute.com/mindful-expressionism/

Massage therapy provided Sara with an opportunity to combine her scientific fascination of anatomy with an outlet for her natural artistic ability. Ideal candidates are those who want to receive professional and artistic therapeutic touch from someone who is deliberate in their work.
