A Brief Explanation… Splankna
This field is generally called “Mind-Body Work”. Splankna is a Christian approach to emotional healing. It consists of an understanding of 3 styles of mind-body work:
Neuro-Emotional Technique (N.E.T.) Thought Field Therapy, (T.F.T.) (eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing)
All are based on the following assumptions…

#1. The subconscious mind has all of one's life experiences catalogued like a computer hard-drive. Emotions from painful life experiences seem to be stored in the body like electrical charges, in different organ points along the Meridian System depending on the type of emotion. The Meridian System of energy is what Chiropractics and Acupuncture are based on. It is theorized to be the path along which the body’s energy/electricity flows.

#2. “Symptoms” are understood to be the result of a current life experience “triggering” anolder stored trauma and re-activating the old emotional content creating some form of overreaction. The clearest example is a phobia. If I had a bad fall as a child, the memory and emotion of that experience are stored in the subconscious mind. As an adult, my conscious mind says “This fear is irrational. I am perfectly safe to look out a four-story window.” But when I try that, it’s as if my computer system says “What do we have stored on height?” It double-clicks that old file and up to my screen comes all the stored emotion and my body has a panic attack, while my conscious mind disagrees that I’m in any danger.

#3. The body is capable of resolving or releasing these stored emotional charges so that the“fuel” behind a symptom is no longer present. What the body needs to accomplish this is some style of "Circuitry + Intention". (Intention being what the person is thinking of, focusing on, remembering etc.) All mind-body treatments that are effective use some combination of physical circuitry + intention. For instance, the client will think of feeling anger at 6 years old when one parent had an extra-marital affair, while touching the liver alarm point on the body where the anger is stored. In just a few seconds, and usually with some spoken forgiveness, the body seems to resolve this stored charge of emotion, as if the “file” is cleaned out. When all the emotions fueling a symptom are resolved, the symptom tends to lift. Spiritual Aspects: We trust that God knows what we need better than we do. We invite Him to lead the entire process and to choose for us where to go in the client’s heart. When traumas occur in our lives, our enemy seems to capitalize on our vulnerability by offering deals/bargains to the deep heart. Sometimes our hearts are deceived and we agree for coping strategies or with symptoms themselves. In the Healing Protocol we ask God to reveal any agreements the client made in conjunction with the identified trauma and we assist the client in repenting of the agreement and breaking it, including all the enemy’s claim to the person and entities attached. In this way, every effort is made to resolve the symptom from all angles, Physically, Emotionally and Spiritually. Splankna Training offers a Christian protocol for Energy Psychology developed from an integration of Neuro-Emotional Technique, Thought Field Therapy, E.M.D.R. (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and spiritual warfare. It provides a straightforward, mechanistic treatment procedure for alleviating a wide range of psychological and physical symptoms through both a Healing Protocol and a Creative Protocol. It attempts to address symptoms comprehensively; attending to the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of the problem and its solution.

Traditional marriage advice tells us to “just communicate better.” But what happens when you’re both too triggered to even hear each other? 💬

In this episode of The Energy to Heal, I’m sitting down with Laura Milliken to discuss a different approach: Splankna. We’re diving into why individual “root work” is often the missing piece in saving a struggling marriage. When you resolve the triggers at the source, the way you show up for your partner changes naturally.

We’re discussing:
• Why traditional communication strategies often fall short.
• How one spouse’s individual healing can shift the entire relationship dynamic.
• Realistic expectations for couples starting this work.

Is it a strategy problem... or a spiritual one? 🤔
Sometimes, no matter how many systems you put in place, things still feel “off.” Taking authority in Jesus’ name over your work and your clients changes the entire frequency of your business.
If you’re ready to stop spinning your wheels and start seeing real, tangible results for yourself and those you serve, let’s talk. I’d love to hear your vision and help you navigate the hurdles.

What do practitioners actually ask when the session is over?
Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes of the first biblically based, mind-body method? I sat down with Splankna founder, Sarah Thiessen, for a candid conversation about the things helpers secretly wonder but rarely ask out loud.
We’re diving deep into the questions that change how you view your work:
• Why willpower isn’t enough to sustain lasting change.
• The “competing seats of will” between the conscious and subconscious mind.
• How a powerful opening prayer “palpably opens things in the heavens” before you even begin.
• What it looks like to maximize the potential for change by getting body, soul, and spirit to work together.
If you’ve ever felt like your sessions were hitting a ceiling, this conversation is a game changer. God is doing amazing things through this modality, and we want to empower you with the tools to see your clients find true, deep freedom.

In your heart, hold nothing back.
As a practitioner, you know that sometimes “willpower” isn’t enough to get the results your clients are looking for. That is why the second step of a powerful opening prayer is so vital: Presentation.
This isn’t just a formal “hello” to God. It is a full, arms-wide-open offering of ourselves—with all our details, warts and all.
Why is this a game-changer for your sessions?
• Whole-Person Alignment: By presenting “body, soul, and spirit,” we move past traditional talk therapy and maximize the potential for change.
• Inviting the Lead Clinician: When we hold nothing back, we invite the Holy Spirit into every secret place to have His will be done there.
• Bypassing Natural Law: It sets the stage for a session that can go beyond our natural skill and into the “remarkable mechanisms” God created for inner healing.
If you’ve been hitting a ceiling in your practice, it might be time to change how you open your sessions.

In the world of inner healing, we often talk about deep-seated symptoms and subconscious barriers. But according to the Splankna “whole person” approach, the most significant shift in a session doesn’t happen during the “work”—it happens at the Gate.
“Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise.” (Psalm 100:4)
This biblical command is far more than a nice sentiment or a religious formality. In a professional helping environment, honest gratefulness is a functional tool that:
• Changes the heavenly realms: Bringing our thanks before the Lord palpably shifts the spiritual atmosphere surrounding the practitioner and the client.
• Opens the way: It literally “opens gates,” providing access that willpower alone cannot achieve.
• Sets the stage: It focuses our hearts on Him, ensuring that the work is grounded in His power rather than our own natural understanding.
Whether it is a first session where we thank Him for His promise to respond, or a 10th session where we acknowledge all He has already done, we are never at a loss for gratitude. When we lead with thanksgiving, we maximize the potential for change by inviting the Holy Spirit to lead the session thought-to-thought.
Don’t underestimate this step. It is the physiological and spiritual requirement for deep breakthrough.

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise.” (Psalm 100:4)
If you’re a counselor, coach, or helper, you long to see more results for your clients. But have you ever felt like you were hitting a wall before the session even started?
That command in Psalm 100 isn’t just a nice idea. When we bring our honest gratefulness before the Lord, it palpably opens things in the heavens and sets the stage for our work. Whether it’s your first session or your fiftieth, we are never at a loss to thank Him for His power and His promise to respond to our requests.
At Splankna, we believe that when body, soul, and spirit work together, the potential for change is maximized. This “whole person” approach often facilitates change at a deeper level than traditional methods.
It all starts with how you open the door. 🚪🕊️

When we talk about subconscious trauma, we have to look at the “whole” person. In Splankna, we don’t ignore the spiritual component. We address it head-on so the real healing work can begin.
The Splankna Approach:
1️⃣ Authority: We take authority over spiritual warfare and repent of “rights” (even those from bloodlines).
2️⃣ Preparation: We apply spiritual seals to the session to create a safe, focused environment.
3️⃣ Guidance: we ask the Holy Spirit to be the Lead Therapist.
True breakthrough happens when the spirit is aligned with the mind and body.

Meet Leanne! She stepped into Core Training in July 2023. “Energy psychology” wasn’t new to her — she had spent a decade working in neurofeedback — but Splankna was. After reading the book, she immediately booked a session in Colorado, experienced the impact firsthand, and continued all the way through Masters and Listening certification.

For years, she had watched clients plateau in their brainwave progress, only to discover emotional blockages sitting underneath the stall. When she moved to Arizona and realized this kind of work wasn’t available locally, she knew it was time to bring Splankna to her community.

She loves watching the Lord bring meaningful, tangible shifts in people’s lives. Session after session, she sees clients experience breakthroughs that help them move forward in ways they hadn’t been able to before. And she deeply appreciates that Splankna is unapologetically Christian — grounded in biblical principles, led with integrity, and centered on partnering with God in the healing process.

The moments she treasures most are the ones where marriages find healing and forgiveness as Splankna uncovers the real roots beneath long‑standing conflict. The ones where generational patterns break and families step into new freedom. And the ones where clients overcome irrational fears and phobias that once felt immovable. Every breakthrough becomes her new favorite.
