💙 Today, on National Caregivers Day, we honor the heart behind care — caregivers everywhere.

At Solera Senior Living, we’re proud to recognize the dedicated professionals who show up each day to provide compassionate support, comfort, and dignity to our residents. Their work is meaningful, selfless, and deeply impactful.

But today, we also want to recognize the millions of individuals caring for aging loved ones at home.

To those supporting parents, spouses, family members, or friends — we see you. Caregivers carry so much — often quietly and without recognition.

It can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also be physically, emotionally, and mentally demanding. And if you are feeling overwhelmed, please know you don’t have to navigate it alone. Support exists — and sometimes a senior living community can help share the responsibility while ensuring your loved one continues to live fully and safely.

For today, we simply want to say: THANK YOU.
For your compassion. For your resilience. For the sacrifices you make every day.

💙 Who are you honoring today? Share whether it’s a professional caregiver or someone caring for a loved one at home. Let’s recognize them together.

🎧 New episode just dropped!
The Meritage Project Podcast | Behind the Judge: Clark Weaver

Phil Lord sits down with Clark Weaver, a resident of Trulee Evanston, for a heartfelt conversation about a life shaped by family, faith, the military, and decades in law and public service. Clark shares reflections from a life well lived — from growing up in the Midwest and serving in the U.S. Army, to building a long, fulfilling career as an attorney and judge.

You’ll hear:

→ how integrity and loyalty are built over a lifetime
→ what it truly means to “play the hand you’re dealt”
→ lessons from the bench that still guide everyday life
→ why, after all he’s experienced, Clark says his greatest joy now is simply living in the moment

For those who believe wisdom grows with time — and that meaning is found in the season you’re in — this episode is for you.

🎙️ Listen now bit.ly/3IseNmB and be reminded that a life well lived is about showing up fully, today.

We’re proud to share a leadership transition that reflects Solera Senior Living’s commitment to developing talent, supporting strong communities, and investing in leaders who serve with purpose.

Amanda Gill, MS, CDAL will be stepping into the role of Executive Director at Modena Reserve Bethesda, following 12 years of leadership as an Executive Director, including the past four years at Village Crossing at Worman's Mill, where she has led the community since its opening. Throughout her tenure, Amanda has built trusted relationships with residents and families, supported and developed team members, and fostered a culture rooted in compassion, accountability, and care. As a longtime Solera Mentor, Amanda has also played an important role in guiding and supporting leaders across the organization, and we’re excited to see her bring that experience and people-first leadership to Modena Reserve Bethesda.

As part of this transition, Michaila Sprites, ALM, CDP has been promoted to Executive Director at Village Crossing at Worman's Mill. With deep operational experience and a strong connection to the community, Michaila is a trusted leader who understands the importance of serving residents, families, and team members with empathy and intention. A Solera Mentor herself, Michaila is well positioned to build on the strong foundation already in place while continuing to invest in both people and culture at Village Crossing at Worman's Mill.

We’re grateful for both leaders and confident in the continued success of Village Crossing at Worman's Mill and Modena Reserve Bethesda under their guidance.

Please join us in congratulating Amanda Gill, MS, CDAL and Michaila Sprites, ALM, CDP on this exciting next chapter.

Please join us in congratulating Bryan Schlatter on his promotion from Sales Counselor to Sales Manager at The Willows at Raleigh

For Bryan, sharing the warm, family atmosphere at The Willows comes naturally—because it’s something he feels every day. His ability to build genuine relationships and help prospective residents turn future plans into plans with us has made a meaningful impact on families and the community alike.

Bryan brings more than 10 years of sales experience, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Indiana University East, and a creative, forward-thinking mindset to his role. He’s inspired by learning about others and finding thoughtful, innovative ways to connect—qualities that make him a trusted guide for residents and families during important life decisions.

Outside of work, Bryan’s creativity and energy shine just as brightly. A former fantasy football podcast host, he’s active in multiple leagues, plays early-morning basketball, bartends on weekends for fun, and enjoys exploring Raleigh with his girlfriend, Kalyn. He’s also rarely far from his Golden Retriever, Braxy, or his feline friend, Bexley.

We’re proud to see Bryan step into this next chapter and look forward to the continued success of The Willows at Raleigh under his leadership.
Congratulations, Bryan!

We’re excited to share our partnership with MemoMate and the rollout of this innovative AI-powered recruiting tool across Solera Senior Living.

As an early adopter, Solera is leading the way in reimagining how frontline hiring can be faster, more efficient, and more human. MemoMate supports our teams by conducting AI-powered phone and text interviews—helping us connect with candidates when they’re available, including after hours, while reducing administrative burden for recruiters.

Since implementation, we’ve already seen meaningful impact. Most importantly, this technology allows our teams to spend less time screening and more time focused on people.

“Partnering with MemoMate positions us to elevate our frontline hiring efforts without losing the human touch. It’s a powerful example of how well-designed AI programs can enhance the people experience and improve outcomes.”
— Adam Kaplan, CEO, Solera Senior Living

We’re proud to partner with MemoMate and to continue investing in innovative solutions that support our communities, our teams, and the future of senior living.

Yesterday, our culinary team came together for specialized training focused on mechanical (soft, texture-modified) diets, led by Angie Windhorst, RD, LDN of NutriCare Advisors—an essential part of ensuring safety, nutrition, and dignity at every table.

A mechanical, or soft food, diet isn’t about limiting choice; it’s about adapting texture so residents who have difficulty chewing or swallowing can continue to enjoy flavorful, nourishing meals with confidence. From soft-cooked vegetables and tender proteins to thoughtfully prepared purees, these meals require both technical skill and heart.

This training reinforced best practices around:

- Food texture and preparation techniques
- Resident safety and swallowing support
- Maintaining presentation, flavor, and enjoyment
- Honoring individual needs with dignity and care

We’re grateful to Angie Windhorst, RD, LDN of NutriCare Advisors for sharing her expertise, and proud of our culinary professionals who continue to invest in their craft and deepen their understanding of how food supports health, comfort, and quality of life.
