I’ve wanted a candle warmer lamp forever… but most of them are not cute.
This one? Finally.
It’s dimmable, has a timer, comes with two bulbs, and melts your candle without a flame. No smoke. No soot. No “did I blow it out?” panic when you’re already in bed.
It also works as a wax melter and the neutral design fits in any room.
Smarter than burning a candle. And such a good gift idea.

PS. I made this candle myself by using a glass from ⁨⁩ and clean scented candle wax from

Freeze yogurt or kefir in an ice cube tray and then pop the frozen cubes into your smoothie. Great way to get probiotics, plus you don’t have to worry about using it up before it spoils.

Nobody warned us that one day our hair would just… quietly thin out. Not dramatically. Not all at once. Just enough that bright overhead lighting becomes your mortal enemy.

Welcome to midlife.

If your part is getting wider, your crown is showing up in photos, or your ponytail feels a little anemic, this is the kind of low effort fix I love. Boldify Hair Thickening Fibers cling to the hair you already have and instantly make it look fuller. No teasing. No sticky helmet hair. No pretending we still have 80s mall bangs.

You tap it on, pat it in, and suddenly your hair looks like it slept eight hours and drank water.

We are not chasing 25. We are optimizing 60.

Confession: I am not a plant whisperer.

I once killed a $300 cactus my husband gave me for Christmas. Yes. A cactus. The plant that survives in the desert.

Turns out my problem wasn’t a lack of love. It was guessing. I was either overwatering in a panic or forgetting completely.

This simple soil moisture meter changed everything. I check before I water. No batteries. No apps. Just a quick read that tells me if the soil is dry, moist, or wet.

My plants are thriving and I’m no longer living in fear of accidental plant homicide.

If you love plants but don’t trust your watering instincts, this is your sign.

I’ve been reaching for Clarins Total Eye Lift as part of my everyday routine because it actually does what it promises. You can see the lift as I apply it, and it layers beautifully under makeup with zero pilling or creasing.

Powered by organic harungana extract, often called nature’s retinol, it’s effective but gentle. Bonus points for refillable packaging that reduces waste by 73 percent. Skincare that works and thinks ahead.

Welcome!

Hey new friends! There are a LOT of new faces on this page so I wanted to say welcome and I'm so glad that you are here. Shall we share some fun facts so that we can get to know each other?

1. I'm Jill and I live in Denver, CO with my husband Paul. I grew up in Florida but after spending 20+ years in Ohio (before moving to CO), I consider myself a midwest girl. 2. I started grownupdish.com in May 2018 because I didn't see much representation of people my (our?) age in the food and health/wellness space. I want to change that! Thanks for following me, and if you like what you see, please tell your friends. 3. I believe in eating REAL food. I try to eat a lower carb, Paleo-ish diet with lots of veggies but I do not eat clean 100% of the time. I do try to cook as much as possible and focus on eating unprocessed food that my body can recognize. 4. I adore Graeters ice cream. I don't like bananas. And bell peppers don't like me. Other than that, I'm up for trying almost anything. The weirdest thing I've ever eaten was kangaroo meat (when I was in Australia.) 5. I have more interests than time. I love going to the movies, cooking, reading, dancing, gardening, knitting, memory keeping, photography, traveling and MORE. I thought that when I stopped working full time I'd have more time to pursue my many hobbies, but I'm finding that I'm busier than ever. How does that happen?

One final thought ... I'm doing my best to keep it real. Everyone has "stuff" going on despite the perfectly curated moments you see on social media. Life isn't all smiles and happy cooking videos. But I believe that having a positive attitude, good friends and a healthy sense of humor will help us navigate whatever life throws at us.

Now that I've spilled it, it's YOUR turn. Tell me something about you in the comments ... pretty please.
