We were the first generation of girls told we could “have it all” — then watched the rulebook get written in real time while we figured it out. No roadmap. No Pinterest. Just vibes and determination.
Gen Jones women didn’t follow a path. We paved one nobody bothered to build for us.

Hey new friends! There are a LOT of new faces on this page so I wanted to say welcome and I'm so glad that you are here. Shall we share some fun facts so that we can get to know each other?
1. I'm Jill and I live in Denver, CO with my husband Paul. I grew up in Florida but after spending 20+ years in Ohio (before moving to CO), I consider myself a midwest girl.
2. I started grownupdish.com in May 2018 because I didn't see much representation of people my (our?) age in the food and health/wellness space. I want to change that! Thanks for following me, and if you like what you see, please tell your friends.
3. I believe in eating REAL food. I try to eat a lower carb, Paleo-ish diet with lots of veggies but I do not eat clean 100% of the time. I do try to cook as much as possible and focus on eating unprocessed food that my body can recognize.
4. I adore Graeters ice cream. I don't like bananas. And bell peppers don't like me. Other than that, I'm up for trying almost anything. The weirdest thing I've ever eaten was kangaroo meat (when I was in Australia.)
5. I have more interests than time. I love going to the movies, cooking, reading, dancing, gardening, knitting, memory keeping, photography, traveling and MORE. I thought that when I stopped working full time I'd have more time to pursue my many hobbies, but I'm finding that I'm busier than ever. How does that happen?
One final thought ... I'm doing my best to keep it real. Everyone has "stuff" going on despite the perfectly curated moments you see on social media. Life isn't all smiles and happy cooking videos. But I believe that having a positive attitude, good friends and a healthy sense of humor will help us navigate whatever life throws at us.
Now that I've spilled it, it's YOUR turn. Tell me something about you in the comments ... pretty please.
