This weekend some of our team had the privilege of attending AutPlay® Therapy training in beautiful Green Mountain Falls, CO with Dr. Robert Grant.

AutPlay integrates play therapy and behavioral therapy to support autistic children and families—and we are so excited to bring these tools back to our clients. 💙

Investing in continued learning helps us grow as therapists, strengthen our skills, and better serve our community.

Many neurodivergent girls and women become experts at masking — hiding their true selves to fit in, stay safe, or be accepted. It’s exhausting. It’s lonely. And too often, it leads to burnout, anxiety, and feeling like no one really sees you.
At All Minds Counseling, we support neurodivergent females in unmasking safely — learning to understand their needs, build self-compassion, and show up authentically.
Therapy can be the place you finally take the mask off and say, “This is me.” And that’s more than enough.

Reach out today for a consultation to see if we may be a good fit for you!

🌟 Today is Autism Awareness Day 🌟

At All Minds Counseling, we are committed to fostering an inclusive, neurodiverse world where every individual’s unique brain is celebrated and accepted. Autism is not something to be “fixed” – it’s a different way of experiencing and interacting with the world, and we believe that difference is something to be honored, not stigmatized.

Let’s not just be “aware” of autism, but rather take this day to learn, reflect, and advocate for the beauty of neurodiversity. 💙 Whether you’re a member of the autistic community, a family member, or someone seeking to better understand autism, we encourage you to continue educating yourself and advocating for a world that embraces all minds.

To our neurodiverse community, you are seen. You are valued. And you matter. 💙

When we create spaces where neurodivergent individuals feel safe to be themselves—without masking, without judgment—that’s when the real magic happens. ✨
Neurodiverse and Identity-affirming therapy isn’t about “fixing” differences; it’s about celebrating them. It’s about recognizing that every mind is wired uniquely and that everyone deserves to feel understood, valued, and accepted.

When someone feels truly seen, their confidence grows, their creativity flourishes, and their authentic self shines.

Let’s commit to fostering environments—both in therapy and in everyday life—where neurodivergent voices are uplifted, not silenced. Because belonging is the first step to thriving.

🌈♾️ Neurodiverse-Affirming Therapy at All Minds Counseling 🧠✨

At All Minds Counseling, we believe therapy should be as unique as the individuals we support. That’s why our practice is neurodiverse-affirming, ensuring that every client feels truly seen, heard, and valued. Here’s how we make that happen:
1. Choices: Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. Whether you want to talk, engage in art, use movement, or take breaks, you get to decide what works best for you. Your therapy, your way.
2. Collaborative Approach: We work with you, not for you. Therapy is a partnership where we follow your motivation, offering suggestions and choices—not demands.
3. Sensory Accommodations: Bright lights? Background noise? Uncomfortable seating? We check in and adjust because feeling safe and comfortable is essential for real progress.
4. Representation of Diversity: Our space is designed to be inclusive—our books, toys, and decor reflect neurodiversity, LGBTQ+ identities, and diverse cultures so that everyone feels seen.
5. Communication in All Forms: Whether you speak, type, use an AAC device, gesture, or need silence, all communication is valid here. You don’t need to mask or change—we meet you where you are.

Why does neurodiverse affirming counseling matter? Because feeling accepted and supported allows for true healing and growth. You deserve therapy that respects who you are.

🌿 Nurturing Yourself Through Capacity 🌿

Let’s talk about something that’s important for all of us, especially in neurodiverse spaces: capacity vs. capability.

✨ Capability is all about your potential and what you’re able to do, your unique strengths and skills. You’ve got an incredible well of talent and resilience within you, whether you’re aware of it or not.

💡 But here’s the thing: capacity is different. Capacity is your energy and mental space. It’s the how much you have available to give right now. And when that feels drained or limited, it’s not a reflection of your worth or your ability. It’s just where you’re at in this moment.

When you’re in a season of low capacity, it’s okay to slow down, to rest, to nourish yourself. 🌸 Your worth isn’t tied to productivity—it’s tied to your being. ❤️

How do we nurture ourselves when we’re in low capacity?
1. Listen to your body: Rest when you need it. Don’t push past your limits.
2. Set gentle boundaries: It’s okay to say “no” or “not today.” Your energy matters.
3. Simplify: Focus on what’s most important right now. It’s okay to let go of extra tasks.
4. Celebrate the small wins: Even taking a break is a victory. 🏆

You are enough, no matter how much capacity you have today. 💖 Take it easy, honor where you’re at, and know that your full capability will shine when you’re ready.

💫 Navigating Rejection Sensitivity in Neurodiverse Relationships 💫

Rejection sensitivity can be a challenging dynamic in neurodiverse relationships, but with understanding and compassion, it’s possible to create a healthier, more supportive connection. Here are 5 skills to help navigate those sensitive moments:

1️⃣ Establish Open & Honest Communication
It all starts with conversation. Make sure both partners feel safe to express their thoughts and feelings, especially when something feels off. Regular check-ins can prevent misunderstandings from spiraling. 🗣️💬

2️⃣ Develop Healthy Coping Strategies
When emotions run high, it’s essential to have tools to manage them. Deep breathing, mindfulness, or simply taking a moment to step back can help prevent knee-jerk reactions. 🧘‍♂️💆‍♀️

3️⃣ Understand Each Other’s Needs & Triggers
Everyone has different sensitivities. Take time to understand what triggers rejection sensitivity for your partner and vice versa. Awareness allows you to be more mindful of your responses and make space for each other’s emotions. 💡💖

4️⃣ Validate Feelings Without Taking It Personally
When rejection sensitivity strikes, it’s easy to take things personally. Instead, acknowledge your partner’s feelings with empathy, even if their emotions seem out of proportion. “I see that this is really hard for you” can go a long way. 🤝❤️

5️⃣ Create a Supportive Environment with Boundaries
Boundaries aren’t walls—they’re the foundation of a safe, nurturing space. Discuss what each of you needs during sensitive moments—whether that’s space, comfort, or reassurance—and respect those boundaries. 🏡🌿

✨ Building a relationship based on understanding, empathy, and patience creates a strong foundation that can handle rejection sensitivity. Remember, it’s a journey, not a destination. ❤️
