We offer food distribution programming and educational opportunities related to growing and cooking food, as well as overall wellness. We strive to be a community-driven organization, meaning that our goal is to have all programs led and implemented by members of our community or others from similar neighborhoods. The GrowHaus is hiring! This is a special time to join our vibrant team and help us lead our community-driven programs. The GrowHaus seeks a talented Business Operations Director to play a key role in shaping our next chapter. Upon receiving several large grants, The GrowHaus is embarking on its next growth phase. We are in the midst of defining our next big project, which may involve real estate and facilities management and/or establishing a new product. We seek an experienced business leader with an entrepreneurial mindset to meet our growing needs, oversee our operations and finances, and help us build capacity to enhance our programming and impact. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced nonprofit or small business professional to join a dedicated team of food justice experts and contribute to the next big chapter of The GrowHaus.

The holiday season is in full swing, and The GrowHaus is working with our partners at Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver to ensure more neighbors can prepare their favorite dishes this month.
Last week, our team delivered over 5,000 pounds of seasonal ingredients to be distributed by the incredible crew at these convenient community hubs.
A fresh meal goes beyond providing nourishment, creating moments of joy and connection for youth and families during the holidays. Thank you to the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Denver for your partnership in advancing food justice across the city, all year round.

Today, I’m feeling so immensely grateful and humbled. Not going to lie, I’m also very tired 😂. Our team wrapped up after midnight last night. We had a very ambitious goal to raise $70,000, with a volume of 300 gifts, and our community of donors, both new and devoted, helped us exceed that amount.

This milestone didn’t come easy and without sacrifice. Literally hundreds of calls were made over the last couple of weeks by our amazing team, as well as some by a few of our awesome También monthly members who volunteered their time. Just like everything we do, fundraising at The GrowHaus is equivalent to endurance training, leading up to a fast, competitive race. In this case, the state’s one-day ‘meet’ of our local development community for great causes.

Colorado felt like a small village yesterday, cheering all of us on, and full of kindness and care for our neighbors. We had SO many conversations and heard from old friends and met new ones. We heard resoundingly that reliable access to fresh food is something every household should be able to count on.

I also want to acknowledge the heroic major gifts and the matching fund made possible by some of our most committed supporters. Their leadership created momentum that helped everyone else feel invited into this work.

To everyone who gave, called, volunteered, or cheered us on, THANK YOU. You strengthened programs that create stability, extend resources, and create opportunity for thousands of neighbors across the Front Range. On behalf of the team, we feel so seen, heard, and inspired!

Earlier today, our Executive Director, Giselle, sat down with Francisca, an Elyria resident who has been coming to programs at The GrowHaus for the past seven years!

Francisca receives 20 pounds of fresh food every other week through our food access program. The fresh produce she brings home stretches her household budget, increases nutrient-density, and helps her family bond in the kitchen over the adventure of cooking with new ingredients. Her three children also participate in our Abejitas summer youth program, and our team even visited her house this past May to plant a home garden with flowers, herbs, and veggies!

Francisca says, “The environment around my house isn’t the healthiest. We have the highway, the factory, the trains all around us. All three of my children have asthma from the air pollution, so I try my best to balance these challenges out with healthy food.”

This morning, our Executive Director, Giselle Díaz Campagna, sat down for a cafecito with Natasha (and her adorable 2-year-old son, Edrick) to talk about her experience with The GrowHaus’ Temporary Emergency Assistance program last month.

Natasha says, “Food is joy and life! “When I walked in, I didn’t realize the food was going to be truly fresh. My daughter wanted to try the rambutans, and we also tried the cactus!”

This is not an abstract idea, but a fundamental condition for health, growth, and the ability to navigate daily life with confidence.

Statewide data shows that Black and Latino households are about twice as likely to experience food insecurity. The GrowHaus addresses this gap in practical and sustainable ways, with our food access programs shaped and led by our team of community leaders who come from the communities we serve.

As we enter the final stretch of Colorado Gives Day, your gift helps meet an immediate need for households facing the sharpest gaps in food access. Food insecurity does not pause over the weekend, during school breaks, or when pantries close due to severe weather. However, these common December disruptions leave our community members empty-handed during the holiday season. The GrowHaus is preparing to add additional produce, eggs, pantry staples, and even spices to our no-cost food access program in the coming weeks. Our warehouse team is ready to sort and pack this additional food for our neighbors, so they can prepare their favorite dishes this holiday season.

We’re setting our final food budget for the last few weeks of December. Can you pitch in so we can purchase additional food? Please make your gift today, so we can tell neighbors they can take home an extra package of food next week.
