We offer food distribution programming and educational opportunities related to growing and cooking food, as well as overall wellness. We strive to be a community-driven organization, meaning that our goal is to have all programs led and implemented by members of our community or others from similar neighborhoods. We are successful when the youth, families, and communities we work with are empowered to feed, nourish and strengthen themselves and each other.

Happy Earth Day!
Here at The GrowHaus, we build innovative solutions that foster environmental sustainability and community impact. Our programs help neighbors of all ages build a connection to the natural world, learn to grow fruits and vegetables, and experience the joys of our local food system. This environmental lens brings our neighbors together to create a strong and resilient future for our community.

For National Volunteer Week, we’re sending a heartfelt THANK YOU to all the También members and volunteers who have given their time to support The GrowHaus!
During special events throughout the year, our volunteers help pack and distribute food for 7,000 community members, plant backyard gardens at our neighbors’ homes, and support our annual fall celebration of food justice, Harvest Nights.
Nearly all of our volunteer opportunities are exclusively for members of our special monthly giving community, También. We invite you to become a También member today to join Denver’s community-led food access solution! Our Spring gardening También Day of Action is coming up quickly, so now is a perfect time to become a member. Check out the link in our bio!

A note from our Senior Manager of Food Access and Procurement, Angelo:
“With April being Earth Month, I’ve been reflecting on how meaningful it is to rescue food for our programs. Being part of something that not only supports our community but also helps reduce food waste and protect the environment feels so special to me.
Last week, we sourced high-quality potatoes, oranges, bananas, lettuce, and radishes from our partner, Food Bank of the Rockies! We brought back over 1,000 pounds of food, bringing us closer to our monthly goal of sourcing and redistributing 25,000 pounds of rescued food.
It’s a reminder that small actions can have a big impact—keeping good food out of landfills, lowering waste, and making sure it reaches people who need it.”
This Earth Month, let’s all do our part to take care of our planet and neighbors.

Our food access programs are directly shaped and led by community members whose firsthand insight helps direct resources to where they make the most impact. The GrowHaus doesn’t just distribute fresh food, it builds lasting community wealth by investing in neighbors’ career pathways.

This Earth Month, we’re proud to reaffirm our commitment to environmental stewardship. All year long, The GrowHaus works alongside its partners and neighbors to care for our planet, knowing that the actions we take today will impact the quality of life of future generations.
Together, we’re cultivating a more sustainable and equitable food system by sourcing rescued and local produce, sharing community education about reducing food waste and eating seasonally, and planting vegetable seedlings alongside our neighbors in Globeville, Elyria, and Swansea, communities impacted by decades of pollution, divestment, and limited access to fresh food.

Leadership development is an important part of The GrowHaus’ work, and our managers play a key role in supporting the growth of their team members, reflecting the same investment made in their professional journeys during their time at The GrowHaus.

We are thrilled to announce that the Denver Broncos Foundation will be supporting our Seed2Seed program through a generous grant award! Seed2Seed supports the food security, mental health, and career pathways of teens from our home communities of Globeville, Elyria, and Swansea (GES), a majority Latino immigrant community where 99% of youth lack healthy food access within one mile.
Through an 8-week summer intensive and engagement points throughout the year, local teens explore the meaning of food justice and ways to be positive forces of change, while building a lifelong foundation of healthy habits. Teens learn about our food system, environmental justice, and wellness habits by engaging in passion projects, volunteering, interactive discussions, and excursions to community organizations. Cooking and nutrition are core components of the program, allowing teens to practice teamwork and explore their identity by celebrating the cultural significance of various foods, and learn about the nutritional qualities of different ingredients. We can’t wait to welcome this year’s cohort and support their journeys!

This week, some gorgeous Colorado-grown potatoes stole the show in our no-cost Food Access program! These special spuds were harvested at Strohauer Farms in La Salle.
Fresh foods like these ensure our neighbors can set their tables with ingredients that create moments of joy and connection. Participants of The GrowHaus’ Food Access program receive over 20 pounds of seasonal fruits and vegetables every other week! Especially during peak growing season, The GrowHaus prioritizes sourcing food from local farms, food rescue organizations, and food hubs to ensure families experiencing food insecurity have access to high-quality produce grown right here in Colorado.
