Behind peak athletic performance is mental strength. Sports psychologists help Olympians build confidence, navigate pressure, and maintain balance in intense competitive environments. Seeing this support become standard encourages all athletes to value their mental well-being.

Psychologists address mental health issues and train athletes to strengthen their mind like a muscle alongside the body.

Research shows LGBTQIA+ individuals experience eating disorders at significantly higher rates. This increased risk is linked not to identity, but to minority stress, stigma, discrimination, and barriers to affirming care.

Inclusive treatment matters. Using correct names and pronouns, addressing trauma and stigma, and adapting evidence-based approaches improves engagement and outcomes. Equity in screening and care is essential to supporting recovery for all.

LGBTQIA+ people face higher rates of eating disorders due to factors like minority stress and dysphoria, highlighting the need for inclusive, adapted care.

Many people, especially women, must have opted to diet at least once. However, the damage it causes to your mental health is something Rocio Rodriguez - a psychologist, author, and specialist in...

In this series, Bryn Miller, LPC, CEDS-C, Advisor of Family Services at EDCare, answers common questions about Emotion Focused Family Therapy and how it strengthens families and support networks. This post highlights who can be involved in EFFT and the importance of a whole support system.

Question: Is EFFT only for parents, or can partners and other caregivers be involved?

Answer: That's a fantastic question—and the answer is a resounding no, it's not just for parents! We know that healing requires a whole support network. So, whether it's a partner, an adult sibling, a grandparent, or a very close friend, anyone who genuinely cares and is willing to step up can be mobilized in EFFT to help build that crucial emotional safety net.
