Anchor Center for Blind Children

Anchor Center for Blind Children Anchor Center for Blind Children is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing early intervent

Anchor Center for Blind Children teaches visually impaired infants, young children and their families, providing hope and a nurturing environment where children reach their highest potential. Anchor Center is the only privately funded organization in Colorado (and one of a handful nationwide) that provides early intervention/developmental education services to very young children with visual impairment. With an operating budget over $2 million, we rely heavily on individual donations to ensure our programs continue to meet the needs of Colorado’s children with vision loss.

Every “thank you” carries weight. ❤️

Right now, through the Word of Thanks campaign supported by Kyle Clark and Next with Kyle Clark, your generosity is showing families of children who are blind or visually impaired that they are not walking this journey alone. 👉 anchorcenter.org/wordofthanks

At Anchor Center, your support helps families access early intervention, expert guidance, and a community that believes in their child’s potential from the very beginning. A gift of any size becomes part of a much larger message: you are seen, you are supported, and your child belongs.

If you’ve been looking for a meaningful way to close out the year with impact, this is it.

Give, share, or simply help us spread the word:

We were deeply honored to welcome Santa and receive beautiful, handmade wooden toys for our students — part of an extraordinary Colorado effort that brought 3,000 handcrafted toys to children across hospitals, specialty schools, and nonprofits this holiday season.

As featured on FOX31 Denver, volunteer woodworkers spent months transforming pieces of wood into toys made with care, intention, and heart. For our young children who are blind or visually impaired, these wooden toys are especially meaningful — inviting tactile exploration, imaginative play, and lasting joy.

We are incredibly grateful to the volunteers, artists, and Santas who made sure children of all abilities were included in this magic! ❤️

All year long, garages and wood workshops around Colorado have been buzzing with the sounds of bandsaws.

Anchor Center has been selected as the next recipient of Next with Kyle Clark’s “Word of Thanks” micro-giving campaign! 💙

Through this amazing initiative, Coloradans have come together over the past five years to raise $15 million for nonprofits — and now, we’re thrilled to be part of that family.

A huge thank you to Kyle Clark and everyone at for recognizing our work to provide early education and intervention services for blind or visually impaired children.🙏

📺 Tune in Wednesday, December 24th at 6PM on Next with Kyle Clark to see our feature and learn how you can get involved!

Donations can be made at anchorcenter.org/wordofthanks

P.S. Also, don’t forget—your gift to Anchor Center qualifies for the 50% Colorado Child Care Contribution Tax Credit, which means half of your donation comes right back to you at tax time. Our beloved volunteer, Barb Stout, with the help of her friends Mike, Al, Mark, Stan, and Gene from Everleigh Resident Workshop - made and donated wooden chairs for our Preschool Program!

They helped source durable materials to ensure these supportive and high-quality chairs last for years. As a heavily used item, they are always a need - and the impact of their contribution will be felt by our students, and staff alike. Thank you for supporting our program !

TREMENDOUS TUESDAYS: MEET KAYDEN

Kayden began his journey at Anchor Center last year in our Toddler program, and this year he’s shining as a superstar in Preschool! ⭐️

Through determination and hard work, Kayden has overcome tremendous challenges to become the preschooler we see today. His bright smile and contagious laugh light up every room, and we can’t wait to watch all the amazing things he’ll continue to accomplish as he grows and experiences the world in his own unique way.

Photo 2: Kayden explores a toy blender at a child-sized play kitchen.
Photo 3: Kayden sits at the top of a colorful playground slide.
Photo 4: Kayden explores a menorah during a hands-on indoor activity.
Video: Kayden goes down a slide and squeals with delight.

This “Thankful Thursday” spotlights our friends at Prologis!

We were so glad to welcome a group of Prologis employees this week for a holiday volunteer project. They jumped right in — wrapping gifts for our children and helping create sensory ornaments that our kiddos will enjoy at next week’s Children’s Holiday Party!

Their time and care helped us move an important part of our holiday preparations forward.

Thank you, Prologis, for supporting our children and community!
