Open Enrollment for Plan Year 2027, will run from Nov. 1 through Dec. 31. This is the time each year when people can sign up for coverage without being required to have a Life Change Event. This 9-week window is shorter than many customers and Stakeholders are used to.
All plans selected during Open Enrollment will begin on Jan. 1. This is also a change, and it means customers no longer need to submit their enrollment by Dec. 15 in order to have Jan. 1 coverage.

Medicaid Changes in 2027: Increased Eligibility Checks.

States that adopted Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act, including Colorado, will be required to transition from annual to semi-annual eligibility checks in January 2027. This unfunded mandate will increase administrative tasks for beneficiaries and county Departments of Human Services, slowing other applications processed through county DHS, such as Medicare Savings Program, Long Term Services and Supports, and the buy-in program for Qualified Working Adults with Disabilities.

Here we are once again at Blair-Caldwell African American Research Library assisting community in obtaining affordable health coverage. I had never noticed the beautiful murals and the great staircase before. I'm so used to rushing in to get set up and rushing out to get to the next thing or home. What a great place to spend some time if you need a break.

I'm starting to feel the season. Had a great day helping folks from Pauline G Robinson Library capped off by an invitation to celebrate some amazing philanthropists honored by Latino Community Foundation of Colorado at the "Aquarium" addition to the Denver Art Museum. Thanks Kevin Patterson for the invitation to this uplifting event.
