🦷✨ Your Biological Health Matters to Us ✨🦷

At Colorado Dental Wellness Center, we care deeply about your overall health — not just your teeth. That’s why safe amalgam removal isn’t optional for us — it’s a must.

We follow the SMART protocol (Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique) to ensure that mercury fillings are removed as safely as possible for both our patients and our team. This protocol includes protective measures such as isolation techniques, high-volume evacuation, air filtration, and specific safety procedures designed to minimize mercury exposure during the removal process.

Your body shouldn’t have to absorb unnecessary toxins during a dental procedure. Our approach prioritizes your biological well-being every step of the way.

If you’ve been considering removing old silver fillings, we’re here to guide you safely and thoughtfully.

A small change can make a big difference. This beautiful transformation was achieved with cosmetic bonding — a conservative, artistic way to repair chips, close small gaps, and enhance the natural shape of your teeth.

Dr. Safavi combines precision and aesthetics to create results that look seamless and natural — so your smile still feels like you, just elevated. 💛

If you’ve been dreaming about improving your smile but want something minimally invasive, cosmetic bonding may be the perfect option.

At Colorado Dental Wellness Center, we’re here to help you achieve your dream smile with personalized care and thoughtful treatment planning.

🐾💛 Happy National Love Your Pet Day! 🐶✨

Today we’re celebrating the unconditional love and joy our pets bring into our lives — and at CDWC, we’re especially grateful for our very own furry team member, Hoolu 🐾

Hoolu is our sweet emotional support pup who helps make Colorado Dental Wellness Center feel warm and welcoming. Whether she’s greeting patients with a wagging tail, offering quiet comfort during appointments, or simply bringing smiles to our team, she has a special way of helping everyone feel more at ease.

We know dental visits can sometimes feel overwhelming, and Hoolu’s calm presence makes all the difference. She reminds us that a little love (and a lot of tail wags) goes a long way. 💛

Today we’re giving extra belly rubs to the pets who brighten our days — especially our girl, Hoolu! 🐶✨

🦷 Healthy Gums, Healthier You: Why Gum Disease Prevention Matters 🌿

Gum disease starts with plaque buildup and can quietly progress into more serious conditions if not prevented. The good news? Most gum disease can be prevented with consistent home care and regular dental visits. Brushing twice a day, flossing daily, and professional cleanings help remove plaque and tartar that brushing alone can’t eliminate. Regular check-ups also allow us to catch early signs before they become bigger problems.

At Colorado Dental Wellness Center, we take gum health a step further. In addition to personalized guidance and preventive cleanings, we incorporate ozone water and hygiene laser treatments to help reduce harmful bacteria, support healing, and keep your gums healthier between visits. These gentle, advanced therapies allow us to treat and maintain gum health in a more comprehensive way.

Because healthy gums are the foundation of a strong smile — and overall well-being.

📞 Call us to schedule your next cleaning and keep your gums healthy for life.

Jaw pain isn’t the only sign of a TMJ issue—and it often isn’t the first one.

Common TMJ symptoms can include:
• Jaw clicking, popping, or locking
• Headaches or migraines
• Neck, shoulder, or facial tension
• Ear pain, pressure, or ringing
• Clenching or grinding (especially at night)
• Limited mouth opening or jaw fatigue

At Colorado Dental Wellness Center, we often see even more subtle signs that point to underlying dysfunction—things patients don’t always realize are connected to the jaw, airway, or bite.

That’s why our comprehensive TMJ risk assessment appointments go beyond symptom-checking. We evaluate jaw function, bite alignment, airway health, posture, muscle balance, and breathing patterns to uncover the root cause, not just manage discomfort.

Because lasting relief starts with understanding why your body is compensating in the first place.

👉 If TMJ symptoms are affecting your daily life, let’s take a deeper look.

Orthotics can be incredibly helpful—but timing and coordination matter.

Foot orthotics and oral (jaw/TMJ) orthotics both influence posture, muscle balance, and alignment throughout the body. When worn at the same time without proper evaluation or coordination, they can sometimes work against each other, leading to:
• Increased jaw or TMJ discomfort
• Neck, shoulder, or back tension
• Changes in bite or jaw position
• Muscle compensation patterns rather than true correction

Your feet and your jaw are part of the same postural system. Changing one without considering the other can alter how forces travel through the body.

At Colorado Dental Wellness Center, we take a whole-body, interdisciplinary approach, assessing how the jaw, airway, posture, and movement patterns are connected—so treatments support each other, not compete.

👉 If you’re using (or considering) an oral appliance and already wear foot orthotics, let’s talk before making changes.

How much thought do you put into picking out your toothbrush? 🪥

It might seem like a small decision, but the right toothbrush can make a big difference in your oral health. When choosing a toothbrush, look for:
• Soft bristles – gentle on gums and enamel while still effective
• A small to medium-sized head – easier to reach all areas of the mouth
• A comfortable handle – better control means better brushing
• Manual or electric? Both work well when used properly—what matters most is consistency and technique

Avoid hard bristles, which can wear down enamel and irritate gums over time. And remember to replace your toothbrush (or brush head) every 3–4 months, or sooner if the bristles are frayed.

At Colorado Dental Wellness Center, we’re always happy to help you find the tools that work best for your smile. A good brush + good habits = a healthier mouth. 💛

Mouth breathing may seem harmless—but over time, it can have a significant impact on your health.

Chronic mouth breathing can contribute to:
• Poor sleep quality and daytime fatigue
• Increased risk of cavities and gum disease
• Jaw and facial development issues
• TMJ pain and muscle tension
• Dry mouth and higher bacterial growth
• Airway and breathing challenges

Nasal breathing plays a critical role in filtering air, supporting proper jaw development, and promoting restorative sleep. When the mouth becomes the primary airway—especially during sleep—the body misses out on these essential benefits.

At Colorado Dental Wellness Center, we assess breathing patterns, airway health, and jaw function as part of a whole-body approach—because how you breathe matters.

👉 If you or your child struggle with mouth breathing, let’s talk.

✨ 10 Months of Progress ✨
This before-and-after shows the power of an epigenetic appliance and what’s possible when we support the body’s natural ability to adapt and heal.

By creating gentle, guided expansion of the palate, we’re not just making room for teeth—we’re improving the foundation of the jaw and airway. Palatal expansion can help:
• Reduce strain on the jaw joints (TMJ)
• Improve bite balance and jaw function
• Support better airway space and breathing
• Decrease clenching, grinding, and facial tension

At Colorado Dental Wellness Center, we take a biological, airway-focused approach, looking at how structure, function, and breathing are all connected. This kind of progress doesn’t happen overnight—but with consistency and the right plan, meaningful change is possible.

👏 We love celebrating our patients’ journeys and the transformations that support long-term comfort, function, and health.

👉 Curious if an epigenetic appliance may be right for you? Let’s talk.

At Colorado Dental Wellness Center, technology should support the body—not fight it. That’s why we use the DEKA laser as part of our approach to sleep and airway health.

The DEKA laser helps gently stimulate tissue, support airway function, and reduce inflammation—without surgery or medications. It’s a non-invasive option that can be especially beneficial for patients experiencing airway restriction, snoring, or sleep-disordered breathing.

This treatment aligns seamlessly with our biological dentistry philosophy, which focuses on working with the body, prioritizing biocompatible solutions, and addressing root causes rather than just symptoms.

By combining advanced laser technology with a whole-body, airway-focused lens, we’re able to offer care that supports not just your smile—but your overall health and quality of sleep.

👉 Ask us if laser therapy may be right for you.
