We have some amazing news to share from our Health Access team! 🎉

This open enrollment season, our team enrolled a massive 1,514 clients living with HIV in health coverage — a 25% jump from last year — even as federal ACA subsidies were cut and the process got harder for everyone.

That kind of result doesn't happen by accident. It takes dedication, creativity, and a whole lot of heart. We're so proud of every team member who showed up for our clients this season.

Head to the link in our bio to read the full story, including how CHN is already preparing for the future of open enrollment! ➡️ https://coloradohealthnetwork.org/blog/health-access-enrollment-2025-26/

Today, March 10, is National Women & Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day — and we want to take a moment to speak directly to the women in our Colorado community. 💛

Did you know that in 2025, more than 1 in 6 new HIV diagnoses in Colorado are among women? That's a 1.5% increase over 2024. These aren't just numbers — they're our mothers, sisters, daughters, and friends.

The good news? When HIV is caught early, people live full, healthy lives. And getting tested is free, confidential, and available right here in Colorado.

Will you take the step today? Find a free testing site near you → coloradohealthnetwork.org/get-tested

And if you know someone who should see this, please share this post. Together, we can change these numbers. đź’›

Today is HIV Advocacy Day at the Colorado State Capitol — and CHN was there! 💙

Mike Mansheim (Chief Strategy Officer), Camille Montoya (Associate Director of Prevention), and Christopher LaFleur (Development Manager) joined HIV advocates from across the state to elevate the conversation around HIV care and prevention in Colorado.

We had the privilege of connecting with State Senator Matt Ball and State Representative Sean D. G. Camacho to discuss how HIV services directly impact the people they represent. Moments like these remind us why advocacy matters — policy shaped by community voices is policy that saves lives.

Thank you to every advocate who showed up today. We are stronger together. đź’Ş

We asked. You answered. And we're listening. đź’™

Earlier this year, Colorado Health Network reached out to clients statewide to learn what's working — and where we can do better. The feedback we received is already shaping real improvements in how we deliver HIV care and support services across Colorado.

From clearer service communication to stronger case management relationships to better digital access, we're taking action to make our programs more responsive, accessible, and effective for everyone we serve.

What does it take to bring HIV care to rural Colorado? For Dr. Jessica Valdez, it started with a residency program in Grand Junction.

Today, Dr. Valdez cares for more than 300 patients living with HIV across southern Colorado — from Pueblo to Alamosa to La Junta — many of whom travel two hours or more just to see a provider. Her journey is a powerful reminder of what's at stake when we invest (or don't) in training the next generation of physicians where they're needed most.

In her latest column for the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel, Dr. Valdez makes a compelling case for protecting Colorado's residency programs — and the communities that depend on them.

People living with HIV are living longer than ever—and Colorado Health Network is helping ensure they age with dignity, support, and the care they deserve.

Through programs like PATH2Wellness and the iCHANGE Project, CHN is integrating geriatric-informed care into HIV services, helping identify age-related health needs, reduce isolation, and improve quality of life for older adults living with HIV.

This innovative work is positioning CHN as a national leader in healthy aging with HIV.

Protecting public health means protecting our shared spaces.

On February 13, Colorado Health Network’s Access Point Pueblo team partnered with local leaders in Trinidad to safely remove improperly discarded syringes and litter along the Purgatoire River and Cimino Park. The team collected and safely disposed of 18 syringes—helping reduce risk and keep community spaces safe for everyone.

This is harm reduction in action: showing up, caring for our communities, and working together to build safer, healthier environments across Southern Colorado.
