✨ District Spotlight: St. Vrain Valley School District! ✨
We’re taking flight with HawkAir, where students “travel” the globe without ever leaving the school! 🌍✈️

St. Vrain’s incredible Nutrition Services team brought the world to the cafeteria with internationally inspired flavors. Including a Vietnamese bánh mì sandwich that students couldn’t stop talking about. 🥖

Fresh, colorful, and packed with authentic flavor, it was the perfect way to connect culture, cuisine, and learning.

Stopping the Stigma.
A 2023 survey by the School Nutrition Association () revealed that 66.8% of nutrition directors reported an increase in stigma for low-income students who rely on free or reduced-price school meals. This stigma can make students feel embarrassed or hesitant to eat in the cafeteria, even when they need that meal the most. That means some student may miss out on the nutrition they need to learn, grow, and thrive.
We are proud to continue Healthy School Meals for All in Colorado to play a role in feeding all students and reducing the stigma for those that rely on our meals.

Victory! With resounding enthusiasm, Colorado once again voted in favor of every Colorado child having access to a healthy school meal by voting yes on Propositions LL and MM. This will ensure the continuation of Colorado’s Healthy School Meals for All program that allows schools to provide more than 600,000 free, nutritious meals to students each day and allow Colorado to support the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) in the face of federal funding cuts.

“Thank you to every voter, volunteer, community partner, and endorsing organization who turned out to pass Propositions LL and MM, ensuring every child in Colorado can continue to get a healthy meal at school,” said Joe Kabourek, Campaign Manager for the Keep Kids Fed campaign. “Colorado’s Healthy School Meals for All program allows schools to provide more than 600,000 free, nutritious meals to students each day, helping students be more engaged and attentive in the classroom. Propositions LL and MM will keep kids fed in school, leading to better grades, higher graduation rates, and better outcomes for Colorado students.”
