For anyone navigating an eating disorder, Thanksgiving can be overwhelming. The food focus, the meal schedules, the family comments—it's a lot. This year, your job is to prioritize your peace, not perfection.
A gentle reminder for the upcoming week:
→ Be the Grey Rock: When difficult comments about food or bodies come up, respond with neutral, boring answers. Don't engage.
→ Schedule Safety: Plan for a recovery-supporting snack or meal before you go, and schedule 15 minutes of quiet time during the gathering.
→ Choose Kindness: If you struggle, extend yourself the same grace you would a friend. Progress, not perfection.
Save this post as a reminder for Thanksgiving this year. You've got this.
