You have been explaining away your afternoon for years now.

Stress. Poor sleep. Just what happens when life gets full.

What if I told you it is none of those?

The glucose-cortisol loop does not show up in standard bloodwork.

It shows up 90 minutes after lunch. In cravings that feel random. In brain fog that makes thinking feel harder than it used to be.

You are not declining.

Your cortisol is compensating for unstable glucose. And because your labs look normal, you keep pushing through and assuming this is just how your body works now.

It is not.

Dietary disruption, stress physiology, and circadian misalignment all create the same crash. But each one requires a different fix.

Treating the wrong variable is why the protocols you have tried have not worked.

So I want to ask you: which pattern did you just see yourself in?

02/14/2026

You can't connect with others until you're connected to yourself.

And connection has a biology.

When your nervous system doesn't feel safe, you feel the distance.

From people. From yourself. From the version of you that used to feel present.

Magnesium is often what's missing.

When levels are low, your system stays in low-grade threat. Not crisis. Just never fully at rest. Never fully resourced.

The form matters.

Magnesium glycinate is what I put almost everyone I work with on because...

- it absorbs without disrupting digestion
- it crosses the blood-brain barrier to work where regulation actually happens
- Glycine [what it's bound to] returns your nervous system to calm on its own

That settled feeling is not imposed on you.

It is your system finally doing what it was designed to do.

That is where connection begins.

This has been one of the easiest protocols I've given in my 1:1 practice.

Not because blood sugar is simple. Because once you know your pattern, the fix becomes obvious.

Here's what I see constantly: you're doing everything right but treating all spikes the same.

Your body has three distinct disruption mechanisms.

- food-driven: you need preparation, not restriction
- stress-driven: your nervous system is the problem, not your plate
- overnight: your liver thinks you're starving when you're just under-fueled at dinner

When you match patterns to fix, you stop feeling betrayed by your biology.

This is metabolic literacy.

Thank you for showing up Wednesday night.

These classes are my gift to you for all the ways you show up here.

Here's what nobody tells you: transformation feels exactly like failure at first.

When you disrupt a pattern your body has been running for years, it reorganizes

And that reorganization feels dysfunctional. Uncomfortable. Wrong.

We expect change to feel immediately better. So when it doesn't, we assume we're failing.

But you're not failing. You're in the middle. And the middle is where most people turn around.

Here’s what I know after 15 years in my practice:
- your body is infinitely adaptable
- nothing is non-negotiable
- reaching your goals has nothing to do with better protocols
- it's about building a framework that lets you iterate instead of collapse

The word my clients say I use most? Iteration.

Sustainable change isn't about trying harder. It's about trying different.

What do you want me to teach next?

Your nervous system reads change as threat.

When you attempt transformation without regulation, your stress response pulls you back.

Cortisol rises.
The prefrontal cortex goes offline
You default to baseline.

Sustainable change requires teaching your body the new pattern is safer than the old one.

structure + regulation + consistency = a nervous system that permits change

When your physiology feels held, your behavior shifts.

If you're doing everything right and nothing seems to be changing…

I'm teaching a free class on February 4th at 6pm MST. Link in bio to register.

I'll walk you through the nervous system science behind why your body resists progress, and how to recognize transformation before you see results.

See you there!

01/29/2026

At the height of my swim career, I was doing every intervention perfectly.

And I became the sickest and heaviest I'd ever been.

My body wasn't rebelling. It was defending itself from the relentless cortisol of "more."

That's what I broke down in my last event: The Weight Behind the Weight.

Here are the simple recalibrations that actually worked..
– chewing the first bite until liquid
– scanning the horizon after stress
– walking after meals
– one sigh to complete the cycle

Nothing rigid. Nothing forced. That's why my body could finally receive it.

If you're doing everything right but your body isn't responding. If you're exhausted and privately asking what am I missing?

I'm teaching a free class on February 4th at 6pm MST.

It's called “You're Not Failing. You're Transforming.”

I went to Oslo with no agenda.
No output goals. No fixing.

And it became obvious fast:

My body wasn’t broken.
It was overstimulated.

It said slow down.
I heard falling behind.

The practices here are small:
– slow walks
– coffee without scrolling
– the same simple meal
– heat, cold, stillness

Nothing tracked. Nothing optimized.
And that’s why it worked.

If you’re doing everything “right” but feel flat, resistant, or quietly off, this isn’t a motivation problem.

It’s a nervous system invitation.

Comment “BREAD” and I’ll send the recipe.

And if this hits: I’m teaching a free class Feb 4 at 6pm MST
You’re Not Failing. You’re Transforming.

It’s about learning to recognize change while you’re inside it before results show up.

01/23/2026

If you joined me for The Weight Behind the Weight last January 8th, thank you.

That conversation has stayed with me.

The honesty. The reflection. The way so many of you said, “This finally makes sense.”

But for many, what happens next is you start to apply what you learned… and suddenly, the body feels heavier.

You get tired. The motivation dips.

It feels like you’ve lost the spark. But it’s not a failure at all.

That’s the phase where your body is reorganizing. Real change often feels like resistance because it asks your biology to rewrite safety.

So my next free live class on February 4 at 6pm MST is for this exact moment — when you’re doing “everything right” but nothing seems to move.

Together, we’ll be exploring
- how to tell if you’re actually transforming beneath the surface
- why exhaustion and frustration are often signs of progress
- the signals your body gives when it’s safe enough to release

If you’ve been in that in-between space [not stuck, but not yet free] this is for you.

You can save your seat through the link in my bio.

I said this to a client last year and watched her whole body shift.

She'd been describing brain fog, decision paralysis, how even choosing lunch required energy she didn't have. And she kept apologizing for it.

But here's what I see constantly: high-performers aren't confused about what they need.

They're just so practiced at overriding their body's signals that the override becomes invisible.

Numbness starts registering as efficiency. Disconnect looks like discipline.

Your nervous system isn't broken. It's been conditioned to run on override for so long that coming back online feels wrong.

The work isn't fixing something defective. It's learning to hear what's been there all along. It's time to relearn the partnership with your body that you've been taught to perform.

PS. To everyone who showed up for The Weight Behind the Weight last week: thank YOU. That kind of presence changes everything.

Your body reacts to family settings before your mind catches up.

Shoulders rise. Breath shortens. Digestion slows.

This is not personality. This is a nervous system reading old cues and preparing for impact.

When you ignore those signals and push through, your system learns one thing. You are on your own in moments of stress. That is why exhaustion shows up later, not during the visit.

Staying in your body starts before the conversation. It starts at the threshold.

Small actions like pausing, feeling your feet, and lengthening your exhale give your nervous system new information.

You are here. You are safe enough. You are staying present.

Repetition builds capacity. Not force. Not perfection.

Comment LIST and I will send it to you.

01/04/2026

Many people I work with are consistent.

They eat well. They train. They follow the plan. Yet their body feels resistant.

Energy stays low. Digestion feels fragile. Weight will not shift. Labs plateau. This is not a motivation problem. It is often a nervous system problem.

When the body lives under constant pressure, even well intentioned pressure, it stays in protection mode.

- cortisol stays elevated
- glucose regulation becomes unstable
- digestion downshifts
-recovery slows

What looks like pushback often comes from self preservation.

Healing starts when the body feels safe enough to respond. Not safe in theory. Safe in physiology.

This changes how nourishment lands, how stress is processed, and how results finally show up.

This is the piece many high performing people have never been taught. I am breaking it down clearly and practically in a free live class on January 8.

I've watched hundreds of women enter January with the same commitment: this time will be different.

More control. Better habits. Finally, consistency.

And by February, the same confusion: why does my body feel like it's working against me?

Because override looks like discipline until your biology starts making decisions for you.

The cravings that feel like lack of willpower are your system trying to guarantee survival. The weight that won't budge is often protection your body won't release until it feels safe.

If you've been doing everything "right" and your body is still holding on, I'm teaching a free live class on January 8th at 9:30am MST: The Weight Behind the Weight.

We'll go deeper into why your body protects through weight, how stress and under-nourishment shift your metabolism into defense mode, and what actually creates the safety your biology needs to let go.
