Founded 150 years ago, we currently offer more than 30 programs and services, including food security, housing stability, mental health counseling, aging care, employment support, chaplaincy, refugee resettlement, and disability services. JFS takes a holistic approach, assessing the various needs of the individual or family and provides the appropriate services all from one organization. We continuously evaluate the evolving challenges of our community and adapt or develop programs that respond to the resulting needs.

Thanks to our generous community, we surpassed our fundraising goal at the Faces of JFS event! This support strengthens our role as a community safety net and helps sustain the essential services our neighbors rely on every day.

We also want to acknowledge the disruption by protesters at the event. Our team, along with security personnel and the Glendale police, responded quickly to ensure the safety of all attendees and mitigate the impact on the event.

Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, or sponsored the event. Our success was because of you.

For 30 years, the JFS KidSuccess program has helped remove barriers to essential mental health support by placing trained therapists directly in schools.

A staff member shared:

“The needs are very high, and most kids would never get mental health treatment if it were not for our program. We not only help students in 1:1 therapy but we help the classrooms and the entire school system.”

With recent changes to SNAP benefits, even more families are turning to JFS for help and we are in urgent need of volunteers to help support our Mobile food & Hygiene Pantry.

Volunteers help distribute food to neighborhood areas where people have limited access to free and healthy food. While in the Mobile Pantry, volunteers greet and assist shoppers with selecting food and hygiene products. Helping to bring a dignified shopping experience to those in need.

Faces of JFS is happening next week!

Attendees will enjoy a cocktail hour, dinner, and an engaging moderated conversation between U.S. media personality, entrepreneur, and world-class changemaker, Van Jones, and Scott Levin.

Jones has long been an ally to the Jewish community, speaking out against antisemitism and working to bridge the Black and Jewish experiences. His vision of allyship and healing reflects JFS’s mission to build stronger, more connected communities.

➡️ Now is the time to help our friends and neighbors.

With recent changes to SNAP benefits, even more families are turning to JFS for help. Your donation to our food pantries provides relief to children trying to focus on learning, older adults forced to choose between medications and meals, and families struggling to keep food on the table.

The Cushman Neal Family Foundation unlocked another match of $15,000 – making your donation go twice as far.
