🧪 Behind every diagnosis is a lab result someone got right.

Nearly 70% of medical decisions are influenced by laboratory results, and Denver Health’s laboratory team brings expertise, precision and dedication to that work every day. From phlebotomists and laboratory technicians to medical laboratory scientists, pathologists and every role in between, their work provides the foundation for safe, high-quality care for our patients.

We are grateful for their tireless work, attention to detail and commitment to Denver Health’s mission. 💙

Helping hands. Caring hearts. 💙 As comes to a close, we’re celebrating the incredible people at Denver Health who give their time to support our patients, families and teams.

Meet Rosie DeSoto, one of these special individuals. After 11 years working at Denver Health as a coding and compliance manager, Rosie retired in 2025, but her journey with us didn’t end there. Today, she continues to give back by spending time in our NICU holding babies and helping in meaningful ways.

Rosie is one of more than 200 ongoing volunteers who provide comfort, compassion and a helping hand across our health system. We are so grateful for our volunteers and the lasting impact they make at Denver Health. 💫

Ibogaine is gaining national attention as a potential treatment for opioid use disorder, PTSD and other mental health conditions. With a recent executive order and continued discussion in Colorado, Denver Health experts are helping lead the conversation around both its potential and its risks.

In a recent CBS Colorado story, Andrew Monte, MD, PhD, associate director of Denver Health’s Rocky Mountain Poison & Drug Safety (RMPDS), shared insight on ibogaine’s emerging role in treatment while emphasizing the need for caution, medical oversight and continued research. Dr. Monte also noted that existing data across more than 17 psychedelic compounds can help inform safer, evidence-based approaches.

A breast cancer diagnosis can change everything. Access to advanced, trusted care can make all the difference. 💙

After being diagnosed with breast cancer on her 58th birthday, Lupe Hinojosa became one of the first patients at Denver Health to receive contrast-enhanced mammography (CEM), a newer imaging exam that can make tumors easier to spot and offer some patients a faster, lower-cost alternative to MRI.

As the first hospital in Denver to offer this technology, Denver Health is expanding access to smarter breast imaging for our community.
