We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for this month’s LIFT Program. It was wonderful to see so many participants come together for a fun and engaging event, and we truly enjoyed spending that time with our community.

A special thank you goes to Tiffany Lowery, Librarian at the DeQuincy Branch of the Calcasieu Parish Library, for sharing valuable insights on the importance of exercise for individuals of all abilities. Her chair yoga demonstration perfectly reflected the inclusive spirit of the LIFT Program and showed how movement and wellness can be accessible to everyone.

We also appreciate Gumbo Gator for stopping by and keeping everyone’s spirits high, adding even more energy and excitement to the day. In addition, we would like to thank the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office for joining us, helping with Bingo, and sharing helpful information with attendees.

Thank you again to everyone who participated and helped make this month’s LIFT Program such a positive and memorable experience. We look forward to seeing you at our next event!

The Holiday Season is traditionally a joyful time, and we are mindful that during the Christmas Season, the joy felt by those surrounding you may be overshadowed by the lingering grief over the passing of a loved one.

For this reason, we encourage you and your family to attend our special Holiday Service of Remembrance. We provide this service not only to remember those we lost, who are celebrating this season with us in spirit, but also to give you an opportunity to take an ornament from our Tree of Remembrance, to keep as a reminder that their presence is still with us.

Please join us for our 2025 Holiday Service of Remembrance at 6:00 p.m., Monday, December 15, 2025, at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home, located at 205 East Harrison Street in DeQuincy. If you aren’t able to attend on the 15th, you are certainly welcome to join us at any of our services.

We hope to see you there, and we also hope that during this season, our Lord will place the peace of the Holiday Spirit on your heart.
