Feature Friday: Wichita’s Littlest Heroes 💛

This week we are highlighting Wichita's Littlest Heroes, an incredible organization supporting Kansas children facing life threatening or complex medical conditions.

They provide families with financial assistance, resources, enrichment activities, and a supportive community so families do not have to face these challenges alone.

We love collaborating with local organizations to help bring resources to kids who need them. We will be attending their Superhero on April 25th to provide Kayven’s Care Kits for children with epilepsy and books for all kids who attend. 💜

💜 Introducing the Purple Hearts Committee 💜

Kayven’s Helping Hands is growing our epilepsy outreach efforts, and we are looking for volunteers who want to help make a difference in the epilepsy community.

The Purple Hearts Committee is a group of volunteers who help us identify needs within the epilepsy community, share ideas for new programs, provide feedback on current efforts, and help connect families with resources, education, and awareness.

Our epilepsy work includes community education events, Kayven’s Care Kits, support groups, seizure first aid training, distributing educational resources, and more. As we continue to grow these programs, we would love to have more voices and helping hands involved.

There are many ways to participate. Some volunteers help with ideas and planning while others help with events, projects, or sharing resources in the community. You can be involved as much or as little as your schedule allows. You don't have to be local to be involved.

If you are interested in learning more about the Purple Hearts Committee, please fill out this short interest form and we will send additional information.

Together we can continue building awareness, education, and support for children and families living with epilepsy.

Hey KHH fam! 💜

We need your t-shirts!!

We are starting a new project and are looking for new or gently used cotton T shirts donated. If you have shirts from a 5K, race, event, or any other t-shirt sitting in a drawer collecting dust, we would love to give them a new purpose.

Please only donate shirts that are 100 percent cotton or at least a 50/50 cotton blend. We cannot use shirts that are distressed, acid washed, bleached, or too worn out.

If you have some to share, please send us a message. Thank you for always supporting the work of Kayven’s Helping Hands and helping us turn everyday items into something meaningful. 💜

Just in case you have ever wondered what a garage full of 1,600+ books looks like… here it is! 😄📚

But seriously, when these two schools reached out and said they wanted to do a book drive, we had no idea it would be this BIG.

We are incredibly thankful to Primrose School of Wichita West and Primrose School of Wichita East and all the families for this generous donation. Kayven was a Class of 2019 preschool alumni, and he loved the school and his teachers there. Seeing this support means so much to our family and to the mission of Kayven’s Helping Hands.

A big thank you as well to the little helpers who helped load the books, and to our buddy Michael who helped us unload them.

As Mr. Rogers once said: " look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping."

We definitely found a lot of helpers. 💜📚
