Wow. What a fantastic evening.

We had some amazing Cub Scouts from Pack 683 stop by and jump right in to help us fill 100 Kayven’s Care Kit bags. They also helped add stickers to a couple hundred books that will soon make their way into the hands of kids in our community.

Their kindness, energy, and willingness to serve made such a big impact. This is what community looks like.

We are so grateful for their help and so proud to see young leaders giving back in such a meaningful way.

Thank you Derby Pack 683. You made a difference tonight.

We encourage all our friends and followers to support the by clicking the attached link and contacting your members of congress.

While this is a national bill not state it will help coordinate better outcomes nationwide and hopefully encourage future statewide efforts. And please share with your networks! ❤️💜

150 epilepsy organizations are united behind the bipartisan Act (S.494/H.R. 1189). We need your help to keep building momentum to move this legislation forward. This bill will enable necessary federal coordination to facilitate better outcomes for people with epilepsy and prioritize the development of more effective treatments. 💜 What is Purple Day? 💜

Purple Day is not just about awareness.
It is about support.

Support for the everyday people living with epilepsy.
Support for the families who carry it with them.
Support for the ones who fight battles no one can see.

Because epilepsy is more than seizures.

It is:
Fear of when the next seizure will come
Fear of injury
Fear of death
Fear of SUDEP

It is:
Loss of independence
Loss of driving
Loss of freedom
Loss of opportunities

It is:
Medication side effects
Exhaustion
Anxiety
Depression
Constant unknowns

It is:
Stigma
Misunderstanding
Feeling isolated
Feeling different

And still… they show up every single day with strength most people will never fully understand.

Today we wear purple for them.
We speak up for them.
We stand beside them.

Because no one should have to face epilepsy alone.

💜 1 in 26 people will be diagnosed with epilepsy in their lifetime
💜 1 in 10 will have a seizure
💜 SUDEP is real and is the leading cause of death for those with epilepsy

Let’s turn awareness into action.
Let’s turn awareness into support.

This is why we support seizure education for all.

Early diagnosis and treatment can improve quality of life. Education and safety matter and most importantly can save lives.

Seizures are not just what you see on TV. They can affect speech, taste, smell, vision, and so much more depending on the part of the brain involved 🧠

To learn more, please watch this informative video and help us spread awareness 💜
