Chief Craig Richard recently sat down with DeRidder High School Principal Mr. Sammy Smith, Mrs. Charlotte Satcher-Walker of the Beauregard Prevention Coalition, and Today's Country 105.7 KVVP
for an important conversation focused on underage drinking and prevention.
During the discussion, they covered the legal consequences of underage drinking, the proactive measures currently in place at DeRidder High School, and the real impact alcohol can have on a developing brain from a studentโs perspective. The group also emphasized how critical it is for parents to have open, ongoing conversations with their children, especially during key moments when teens may be facing peer pressure or difficult decisions.
Prevention starts at home and in our community. Talking to your children about underage drinking early and often can make all the difference.
Together, we can continue working to keep our DeRidder youth safe, informed, and supported.๐
