THANK YOU to our PATIENTS in BEAUREGARD, VERNON and surrounding area for 75 years of our CHIROPRACTIC PRACTICE. If you were a patient in the early years, leave us a short story. I have a few patients that still come in that started seeing Dr J. E. in the 1950's. My great uncle, Dr James E Stephenson DC, graduated from Texas Chiropractic College in 1950. He moved here and began practicing chiropractic on North Royal st in a 2 story house. He raised 3 daughters here. He ran for state representative and was able to get chiropractic care legalized. (Picture below of Governor Edwin Edwards signing bill legalizing Chiropractic). Dr. Stephenson had been charged with practicing medicine without a license prior to this bill. (See article below). He lived and breathed Chiropractic. He was license #2... he let another dr have #1, who was very sick. He was the 1st president of the Louisiana chiropractic board. I graduated from Texas Chiropractic college in 1994 I began practicing with Dr Stephenson in January 1995. Dr Stephenson passed away in 2001. His secretary, Patsy Bomboy, has been with us for a total of 42 years. Mrs Sandra Hamilton has been with us for about 25 years and Mrs James Mcadams has been with us about 13 years. My wife, Andrea C. Jenkins, and I have raised our 3 daughters here also. I'm very proud of my family's history in the field of chiropractic and medicine. I had 3 great uncles that were chiropractors, all practicing over 40 years. My great great Grandfather was Dr William T Jenkins MD. He practiced about 55 years around the Eunice Church Point La. area. He passed away in 1907. His son, Dr Walter Allen Jenkins, MD practiced 60 years in Church Point La. My Grandfather Dr Harry Jenkins MD practiced 61 years in Eunice La. and then passed away in 1970. I had a few patients that my grandfather saw or delivered that were also patients of mine. That was so cool to me. I'd like to thank my wife and daughters for all their support through the many years. Thank you Lord for my health and the field of chiropractic. Our chiropractic family line continues today with my nephew, Bailey Bloodworth, who is a chiropractor in Colorado. James Jenkins Andrea C. Jenkins
