Congratulations to our quarterly ROSE Award recipient, Dakotah Blanchette, LNA, Progressive Care Unit! A family member of a patient said, “My aunt recently had a stay at Parkland Medical Center and she stated that all of the staff was very helpful, but Dakotah stood out. Dakota often checked in on her asking if she was comfortable or needed anything. She also would stop by her room for a couple of minutes just to have small talk, which made her stay much more enjoyable in a trying time of her life. I would like to say thank you to Dakotah for making an elderly lady comfortable in a trying time.”

While winter brings snowball fights, cozy nights and frosty fun, it can also bring a dangerous chill. Without the right protection, you could be setting yourself up for . Frostbite happens when skin and tissue begin to freeze, often without much warning. If you notice any of the signs, it’s time to act fast:

❄️ Remove wet clothing immediately.
❄️ Move into a warm, sheltered environment.
❄️ Warm your body using blankets and/or dry clothing.
❄️ Gently rewarm affected areas in room-temperature (not hot) water.

Your risk of frostbite can increase with prolonged exposure to cold, alcohol use and age. However, you can still enjoy your favorite winter activities safely. To help prevent, it’s important to bundle up in warm layers and stay dry before heading outdoors.

💙 Thank You, Parkland Medical Center Team! 💙

We asked you to support the Healthy Food for Healthier Tomorrows Food Drive — and you came through in an amazing way!

Together, we collected 375 pounds of food and essential items to benefit Sonshine Soup Kitchen, supporting families in need. Together with our HCA Healthcare facilities in New Hampshire, we gathered nearly 2,800 pounds of food and essential items to help four food pantries across the Granite State!

Food insecurity remains one of the most pressing health challenges in our communities. That’s why our Parkland family was proud to join other HCA Healthcare facilities nationwide for this initiative — ensuring families have access to healthy meals during this holiday season.

Your generosity and compassion truly make a difference. Thank you for showing what community and care look like! 💪
