The last day of the calendar year is upon us! Today truly is a day to reflect on the past year and see the differences from a year ago. However, it’s also a day to look forward. Many people get stuck in reflection and often don’t do the second part, which is just as necessary to make the coming year successful. You don’t necessarily need to make resolutions, but making an outline of a plan would be a good place to start. What do you want the upcoming year to look like? And, importantly, is that vision realistic?

This Monday is a little bit of a damper (figuratively and literally depending on where you are). This is the last Monday of the year. There’s no need to overthink how to spend your energy today. Today is probably a decent day to fall back on your routine. You can certainly reflect back on the year you’ve had and think forward to the year ahead as you do so. But don’t panic about what’s coming so much that you blindfold yourself to all possibilities. The future is not something we can know for certain, so best not to dwell.
