Yesterday, the news broke of the attack on Venezuela, resulting in an air ban over the Caribbean. I contacted my clients who are set to travel this month- just to be aware, but here is the update as of today for all.

**UPDATE FOR TRAVELERS: Airspace & airports in Puerto Rico and much of the Caribbean are BACK OPEN after temporary shutdowns due to safety concerns linked to recent military activity in Venezuela. Airlines have begun resuming flights, including inbound service to San Juan, with carriers working to clear the backlog of cancellations and delays.

📌What you need to know:
• FAA lifted the temporary airspace restrictions early Sunday, and commercial flights are underway again.
• Puerto Rico’s airports are welcoming back flights from cities like Newark, Miami, and Washington, D.C. as part of normal operations returning.
• Over 48,000 passengers and 400+ flights were affected by the initial closure — expect some delays as schedules normalize.

☝️ Travel tip: Always check directly with your airline for the most current flight updates and rebooking options.
