If you’ve been through an athlete or dieting era of “you have no choice but to push” and don’t want to go back to that mindset….but still want to maintain fitness and wellness goals throughout your cycle, I’m with you!
Remind yourself in the luteal phase (the two weeks before your period when energy and mood can dip):
1. Any movement is better than none. If you miss a lift, still get 1-2 in that week.
2. If you’re feeling like working out is a grind, then you probably need to reassess stress in another area. Rest, ground, meditate and revisit the idea later in the day/week.
3. You deserve whatever food you want because food isn’t about morality, it’s about caring for yourself, mind/body/spirit. You can practice self trust and also have flexibility.
