Iowa Medical Society Our Vision: To be the leading voice in medicine to make Iowa a premier destination for physicians to live, work, and serve their communities.

Established in 1850, IMS is a statewide professional association representing more than 6,000 Iowa physicians, residents, and medical students. We work to advance the practice of medicine through advocacy, education, and engagement with physicians throughout Iowa to ensure the highest quality of care for the patients they serve.

Yesterday, the Iowa Medical Society held Physician Day on the Hill. Physicians, medical students, and residents from across Iowa came to the Iowa State Capitol to advocate for health care issues. More than 100 attendees took part in the day’s events, including meetings with lawmakers and advocacy activities focused on Iowa’s patients and communities.
