Operation Barnabas of Des Moines

Operation Barnabas of Des Moines Operation Barnabas of Des Moines is a Christian military support network of care to our nation’s Veterans and their families.

We reach out to all branches of the military, with a special emphasis on our Reserve members and their families. You may ask: “Why is it called Operation Barnabas?” Barnabas was Paul’s companion, who helped him in his missionary journey. His name means “son of encouragement.” We hope to encourage our military and their families with the Gospel in action!

We are incredibly grateful for the support of all those who joined Operation Barnabas at Camp Dodge today for the annual Gold Star Museum Memorial Day Breakfast. Thank you to all those who donated towards the Veteran Hospital Coffee Drive.

With the help of 🇺🇸 Veteran David Stout, over 400 canisters of ground coffee were delivered to the Des Moines Veterans Hospital this past week!

Dave did his best to snap a few pictures of his truck filled to the brim with coffee, but VA staff and volunteers started unloading as soon as he dropped the tailgate! They wanted to get that coffee to Veterans ASAP! ❤️

Join Operation Barnabas for the 2022 Memorial Day Coffee Drive For Veterans!

Who?
YOU!! The Des Moines Veterans Hospital needs your help!

What?
Coffee!! Veterans LOVE their coffee. The Hospital has a small coffee budget and a large demand. They need our support!
- All brands and varieties welcome!
- Both Regular and Decaf
- Cans or sealed bags (no pods or k-cups)

Where?
Iowa Gold Star Military Museum at Camp Dodge
- While at Camp Dodge enjoy a free “Military Style” breakfast.
- May also make monetary donations via IowaMilitarySupport.org

When?
Memorial Day, Monday, May 30
- From 6 - 9 AM
- Operation Barnabas will have a tent set up in front of the Museum.
- Drive-by or walk up to drop coffee donations.

Merry Christmas from Operation Barnabas of Des Moines! Despite an unusual year, we still found a way to encourage our Veterans. This past Wednesday we delivered 212 Christmas boxes to the Des Moines Veterans Administration Hospital. These boxes went to current inpatients at the Hospital. Each box contained a custom "Veteran" stainless steel tumbler, devotional books, challenge coin, patriotic lapel pin, and sweets. The Hospital was excited to receive the boxes and immediately went to work on distribution to the Veterans.
