When I started Atha SomaYoga, it fit. Atha! The Time is Now! (That is the first sutra of yoga.... the time is always now to use the practices of yoga.) As time has passed, and I've shared this work with more and more people, it became clear that A) people didn't know what I did by the name, and B) my practice has evolved! I wasn't planning on doing a Rebranding, but as I moved into my new space and talked to more people, it seemed like the right time. So why ReForm?
ReForm Somatic Yoga Therapy is an integrative nervous system and structural recalibration practice, combining somatics, breath re-education, yoga therapy, and fascial work and other hands-on techniques, to create sustainable change from the inside out. You can literally ReForm yourself - your posture, your breath, your nervous system, your relationship to yourself and to others, with these tools. I wanted to say the word "Somatics" as people are beginning to hear this word, and it's a big part of what I do. Yoga Therapy, because that's the broad work that I do - all of this is housed under being a Certified Yoga Therapist.
You'll see me making slow changes..... I'm in no hurry. I do want to tell you the "why's" and what I do these days. It's exciting, and I hope you'll be along for the ride, and maybe even try it out, if you haven't yet.
