Welcome our new featured artist, Libby Crimmings!

Libby Crimmings is a mixed-media artist whose work explores the human experiences of memory, place, and identity. Storytelling through imagery and textile, Libby weaves together diverse materials and techniques to create vibrant, textured compositions that invite viewers into her world. She often collaborates on pieces with her husband, Joe Crimmings, a photographer who loves documenting everyday stories and adventures near and far. Together, they blend Libby’s art and Joe’s images into shared projects. They live in Des Moines, IA with their three kids and a lively crew of pets.

The newest pieces in this series represent a year of travel, extending the spirit of the original series begun in 2024 while opening space for new memories. Joe’s photographs anchor the work, capturing fleeting moments from our shared journeys. Libby’s addition of art and mixed media layers onto those fragments, transforming them into reflections, textured and tactile impressions that evoke the way memories settle within us. Through Fragments + Reflections, we share not only the landscapes we’ve crossed, but the way travel forever marks the soul fragment by fragment, reflection by reflection.
