Facility Duties and Expectations:
• Provide prompt and professional customer service and answer calls.
• Fill and verify prescriptions and counsel patients per OBRA ’90 regulations.
• Manage inventory, including ordering, stocking, and controlled substance counts.
• Coach and train staff.
• Administer immunizations safely and accurately.
• Research and verify medication and patient information.
• Maintain accurate records and follow all state, federal, and insurance regulations to ensure pharmacy compliance.

Hours of Operation
• Monday–Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
• Saturday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Saturday closure under evaluation)
• Sunday: Closed
• Closed on Christmas and federal holidays

Manager Schedule
• Every other Saturday, with one weekday off during Saturday weeks
• Double pharmacist coverage 1–2 days per week (typically Mondays)

Required Qualifications:
• Active Iowa Pharmacist license in good standing
o Candidates actively pursuing Iowa licensure will be considered

In this role, you’ll verify orders, prepare medications, and support clinical needs throughout the hospital. It’s a steady, practical environment where clear communication, accuracy, and good judgment go a long way

Facility Duties and Expectations:

- Check medication orders for correctness, dosing, and clinical appropriateness
- Fill and verify medications for inpatient areas and outpatient needs
- Review patient profiles and flag potential issues or needed adjustments
- Prepare sterile products and other compounded items as required
- Keep clear documentation of reviews, interventions, and medication changes
- Answer medication-related questions from nurses, providers, and other staff
- Assist with routine compliance, audits, and quality checks
- Help support students or residents who rotate through the department
- Use hospital software and tools to manage daily pharmacy workflow

Schedule:

- 72 hours per pay period
- Day/Evening/Night rotation
- Every 3rd weekend
- Pharmacists choose the shifts they work.
